KINGS EXTEND WIN STREAK, EARN 20TH VICTORY OVERALL
The Hurricanes overcame a 2-0 deficit in the final 6:57 of regulation, but Tanner Pearson (1-1—2) scored with 19.2 seconds left in overtime to lift the Western Conference-leading Kings to their eighth straight victory and 20th win of the season overall (20-8-3, 43 points). The Kings’ eight-game run is the longest win streak in the NHL this season and the longest by Los Angeles since an equal run from Feb. 7-24, 2015.

* Jonathan Quick (32 saves) extended his personal win streak to six games dating to Nov. 25, posting a 1.46 goals-against average and .943 save percentage in that span.

* Anze Kopitar (1-1—2) recorded multiple points for the fourth consecutive game (3-6—9) and ranks tied for third in the NHL with 16-22—38 this season.

* Elias notes that the Kings reached the 20-win mark within their first 31 games of a season for the sixth time in franchise history.

BLUES ALSO REACH 20-WIN MARK
Brayden Schenn
collected 1-1—2 and five other skaters found the back of the net to help the Blues improve to 20-8-2 (42 points) this season. Elias notes that St. Louis reached the 20-win mark within its first 30 games of a season for the fifth time in franchise history.

* Schenn posted his 10th multi-point performance of the season and shares seventh in the NHL with 15-21—36. Only Nikita Kucherov (14), Jakub Voracek (13), Steven Stamkos (12), Johnny Gaudreau (12) and Anze Kopitar (11) have recorded more multi-point games in 2017-18.

LEAGUE-LEADING LIGHTNING CONTINUE TO ROLL
Nikita Kucherov
tied the game in the third period and Brayden Point (1-1—2) scored 36 seconds into overtime to power the League-leading Lightning (21-6-2, 44 points) to their fourth consecutive win. Tampa Bay also earned its fifth straight victory at Amalie Arena and leads the NHL with 13 home wins overall this season (13-2-1, 27 points).

* Kucherov (20-21—41 in 29 GP) reached the 20-goal mark for the fourth consecutive season. After reaching the 20-goal mark on Feb. 7 last season, Kucherov went four games without a point before scoring a goal in five straight contests, a streak that began Feb. 21. Since that date, Kucherov has collected 39-38—77 in 52 GP (1.48 P/GP) – the most goals and points by any player in that span.

LUNDQVIST PASSES ESPOSITO FOR SECOND-MOST WINS WITH ONE CLUB

Elias notes that Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist (26 saves) earned his 419th career win (all w/ NYR) to pass Tony Esposito for the second-most by a goaltender with one franchise in NHL history.

AVALANCHE ERUPT FOR SEVEN GOALS TO SNAP SLIDE
The Avalanche erupted for seven goals to defeat the Panthers and snap a four-game slide (0-4-0). Colorado scored seven goals in a game for the first time since Oct. 24, 2014 vs. VAN (7-3 W).

* Did You Know? There have been 23 instances of a team scoring at least seven goals in 2017-18 (455 GP), the most through the first 455 games of a season since 2010-11 (23). In fact, only three other seasons in the past 21 years have featured as many such instances through 455 contests – 2006-07 (23), 2005-06 (27) and 1996-97 (27).
