HAT TRICKS POWER CLUBS TO WINS

* Monahan scored three power-play goals in the second period to register the first hat trick of his NHL career (338 GP) and help the Flamesovercome 3-1 and 4-3 deficits to defeat the Flyers. Monahan became the fourth player in Flames franchise history to score three power-play goals in a game and just the second to do so in a single period, joining Atlanta’s Claude St. Sauveur on Dec. 19, 1975 vs. NYR.

* Duclair scored his third goal of the contest at 1:23 of overtime to complete the second hat trick of his NHL career (173 GP) and power the Coyotes to victory. Duclair became the first Coyotes player to record a hat trick that included an overtime goal since Antoine Vermette on Dec. 21, 2013 at OTT.

Did You Know? There have been 23 hat tricks in 2017-18 (304 GP), the most through the first 304 games of a season since 2010-11 (26).

ISLANDERS SCORE FIVE GOALS (AGAIN) TO DEFEAT LIGHTNING
The Islanders scored at least five goals for the third consecutive contest (also 5-2 W at STL on Nov. 11 and 6-4 W vs. CAR on Nov. 16) to snap the League-leading Lightning’s win streak at five games and earn their third straight victory.

* Elias notes that the Islanders scored five or more goals in three consecutive games for the first time since Jan. 30 – Feb. 4, 1996 (5-4 OT W vs. BUF, 6-5 OT L at WSH and 5-3 W vs. DAL).

GAUDREAU, LAINE AND SCHENN EXTEND POINT STREAKS
Flames forward Johnny Gaudreau (1-2—3), Jets forward Patrik Laine (1-0—1) and Blues forward Brayden Schenn (1-0—1) each extended lengthy point streaks:

* Schenn scored at 2:41 of overtime to extend his point streak to a career-high seven games (5-10—15) and help the Blues improve to 15-5-1 (31 points) this season, the best record in the Western Conference.
