SCHNEIDER BACKSTOPS HIGH-SCORING DEVILS TO 3-0-0 RECORD

matched a career high with 47 saves and the Devils scored six goals to improve to 3-0-0 for the first time since 2014-15. Elias notes that the Devils have combined for 16 goals through the first three games of the season (4-1 W vs. COL on Oct. 7, 6-2 W at BUF on Oct. 9), their second-highest such total in franchise history (17 in 1991-92).


JAGR MAKES 2017-18 DEBUT IN FLAMES WIN
On the night Jaromir Jagr made his 2017-18 debut with the Flames (13:38 TOI), Sean Monahan (1-1—2) scored his eighth career regular-season overtime goal to extend his franchise record and power Calgary to its third straight win.

* Jagr, who enters his 24th NHL campaign at 45 years of age, ranks second all-time in points (765-1,149—1,914), third in goals (765) and fifth in assists (1,149).

* Did You Know? Flames head coach Glen Gulutzan is only 187 days older than Jagr and nine players on Calgary’s active roster were not even born when Jagr played his first NHL game on Oct. 5, 1990 (Sam Bennett,Micheal Ferland, Johnny Gaudreau, Dougie Hamilton, Freddie Hamilton, Brett Kulak, Curtis Lazar, Sean Monahan and Matthew Tkachuk).


OVECHKIN CONTINUES STRONG START TO SEASON

Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin scored his League-leading eighth goal of the 2017-18 campaign (4 GP). He became the fifth player in the NHL’s expansion era (since 1967-68) to score eight goals through his team’s first four games of a season.
