GAUDREAU SPARKS FLAMES OFFENSE IN RETURN TO LINEUP
Johnny Gaudreau (1-1—2) scored 2:09 into his return from a 10-game absence and the Flames later scored seven straight goals – including five in a span of 6:04 during the second period – en route to their third straight win and to an 8-3-1 mark in their past 12 games.

* Sam Bennett, Alex Chiasson and Matt Stajan each posted 1-2—3 for the Flames, who scored at least eight goals in a game for the first time since March 22, 2014 at EDM (8-1 W). It was their first eight-goal game on home ice since March 1, 2000 (8-2 W vs. PIT).

* The Flames scored five goals in a period for the first time since 2010-11 when they achieved the feat twice. Sunday, however, marked the first time that the Flames scored at least five goals in one period on home ice since Nov. 3, 2001 (five in first period of 6-2 W vs. MTL).

* Troy Brouwer (1-1—2), Chiasson and Stajan combined for three goals in 87 seconds, the fastest trio of goals by Flames players since Dec. 16, 2010 (3 in 0:57 vs. TOR). The franchise record for quickest three goals is 36 seconds, established on Feb. 13, 1993 vs. SJS.

SIMMONDS HELPS FLYERS EXTEND WIN STREAK TO FIVE GAMES
Wayne Simmonds scored twice and the Flyers overcame a pair of tying goals by the Predators to pick up their fifth consecutive victory and match their longest winning streak since 2013-14.

* Simmonds moved into a share of third in the League with 13 goals, behind Sidney Crosby and Patrik Laine who have 16 apiece. He has collected seven of those goals via the power play, tied for tops in the NHL (w/ Ryan Kesler, Laine and Shea Weber).

* Simmonds also shares second in the League with 12 power play points, one back of teammate Claude Giroux, who notched an assist on his second goal.

CANADIENS RECLAIM TOP SPOT IN NHL
Alexander Radulov (1-2—3) scored in both regulation and the shootout to help the Canadiens reclaim top spot in the NHL and improve to 2-2-0 on their five-game road trip, which ends Tuesday in St. Louis.

* Radulov, who signed as a free agent during the offseason, ranks second in team scoring with 21 points this season (5-16—21 in 23 GP).

* Max Pacioretty (2-1—3) also collected three points, while Carey Price (27 saves) recorded his League-leading 14th win of the season.

LOOSE PUCKS
Cam Ward (30 saves) recorded his 25th career shutout to backstop the Hurricanes to their sixth consecutive home victory, their longest such win streak since Jan. 24 – March 11, 2010 (8-0-0) . . . Jets forward Andrew Copp (96 GP) scored his first career game-winning goal with 4:45 remaining in regulation to halt the Blackhawks' home point streak at 12 games (10-0-2) . . . Defenseman Danny DeKeyser (DET) and forward Phillip Di Giuseppe (CAR) each scored their second career overtime goal . . .
