HOME TEAMS SWEEP FRIDAY’S SLATE
The Blue Jackets, Red Wings and Islanders all earned home victories on Friday, helping home teams improve to 47-15-2 in the first 10 days of the 2016-17 NHL season.

* Zach Werenski and Nick Foligno each collected 1-1—2 to help the Blue Jackets pick up their first win of the season (1-2-0). Werenski, who posted his first multi-point outing, has registered at least one point in each of his first three career NHL games (2-2—4). Per Elias, Werenski is the first player in franchise history to begin his NHL career on a three-game point streak.

* Five different skaters scored to help the Red Wings pick up their third consecutive victory on the heels of a 0-2-0 start to the season. Detroit has won five straight games vs. NSH dating to Jan. 17, 2015 (NSH: 0-4-1), while Petr Mrazek (30 SV) – who made a highlight-reel stop in the third period – improved to 4-0-0 in four career appearances against the club (2.74 GAA, .913 SV%).

* The Coyotes scored twice in a span of 13 seconds to erase a 2-0 deficit, but Johnny Boychuk (1-1—2) notched the go-ahead marker while shorthanded to help the Islanders improve to 6-0-1 in their last seven home games vs. ARI dating to Dec. 13, 2007 (ARI: 1-6-0), including four straight wins. Brock Nelson notched the lone assist on the game-winning goal to stretch his season-opening point streak to five games (2-3—5).

MUST SEE: STROME VS. STROME
Trish and Chris Strome – who were in attendance for the first NHL meeting between their sons Ryan (NYI) and Dylan (ARI) – weren’t sure how to react after Ryan scored to give the Islanders a 2-0 lead.

DOAN CONTINUES CLIMB UP ALL-TIME FRANCHISE LIST
Coyotes captain Shane Doan collected his 551st career assist to pass Dale Hawerchuk (550) for sole possession of second place in Coyotes/Jets history. Thomas Steen, who will play alongside Hawerchuk in the 2016 Rogers NHL Heritage Classic Alumni Game this afternoon, is the franchise’s all-time assists leader with 553.

LOOSE PUCKS
Blackhawks forward Richard Panik (1-1—2) has compiled 5-2—7 in five games this season, compared to 6-2—8 in 2015-16 (30 GP) . . . Coyotes defenseman Jakob Chychrun (0-1—1) has collected a point in all three games to begin his NHL career (1-2—3) . . . Blackhawks forward Tyler Motte scored the first goal of his NHL career (5 GP) . . . Blue Jackets forward Lukas Sedlak, a sixth-round selection (158th overall) in the 2011 NHL Draft, made his League debut . . . The Department of Player Safety suspended Flyers forward Dale Weise for three games for an illegal check to the headof Ducks defenseman Korbinian Holzer.
