Sharks defenseman Brent Burns (0-2—2) – who earlier on Friday was announced as a finalist for the Norris Trophy – registered his third consecutive multi-point game (also Game 4 vs. LAK: 1-1—2 and Game 5 at LAK: 0-3—3).

* Elias says that Burns became the first defenseman in franchise history to record three straight multi-point games in the playoffs. He also equaled the longest such run by any Sharks player in the postseason, matching feats achieved twice by Patrick Marleau(2006 and 2014) and once by Joe Pavelski (2010).

* Burns – who in 2015-16 set single-season Sharks records for goals (27), assists (48) and points (75) by a defenseman – shares second in the NHL with 2-8—10 this postseason (6 GP), two points shy of his total from his first 34 career playoff outings (5-7—12).

STARS HOLD OFF BLUES FOR GAME 1 WIN
The Blues tied the game in the third period, but Radek Faksa (1-1—2) notched the go-ahead goal with 4:44 remaining in regulation to help the Stars win Game 1 of their Second Round series.

* Faksa also scored the game-winning goal for the Stars in the opening game of their First Round series against the Wild. Via Elias, he became the first player from any team to record the decisive marker in Game 1 of consecutive playoff series since 2010, when Chris Higgins accomplished the feat for the Canucks (CQF vs. CHI and CSF vs. NSH).

* Elias adds that Faksa, the 13th overall selection in the 2012 NHL Draft, is the third Stars/North Stars player to have each of his first two career playoff goals stand as game-winners in a single postseason. The others: Dennis Hextall (2 in 1973) andRoman Lyashenko (2 in 2000).

* Dallas has won nine of its past 10 contests overall at American Airlines Center dating to March 17, the lone exception being an overtime loss to Minnesota in Game 5 of the First Round.

* Kari Lehtonen made 31 saves to improve to 4-1 with a 2.01 goals-against average and .925 save percentage in five appearances this postseason. He also moved to 14-6-3 in 25 career appearances vs. STL (regular-season and playoffs).

BURNS, DOUGHTY AND KARLSSON VOTED NORRIS TROPHY FINALISTS
The NHL announced that Brent Burns of the San Jose Sharks, Drew Doughty of the Los Angeles Kings and Erik Karlsson of the Ottawa Senators are the three finalists for the 2015-16 James Norris Memorial Trophy, which is awarded “to the defense player who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position.”

2016 NHL DRAFT LOTTERY TAKES PLACE TONIGHT
The 2016 NHL Draft Lottery, a weighted system implemented and utilized to determine the order of selection in the first round of the 2016 NHL Draft for the 14 clubs not qualifying for the Stanley Cup Playoffs (or the clubs that have acquired the first-round drafting positions of those non-playoff teams), takes place tonight.

The results of the Draft Lottery will be revealed live at 8:00 p.m. ET on CBC and TVA Sports in Canada and on NBC in the U.S. immediately preceding the start of Game 2 between the Capitals and Penguins.

For the first time, the 2016 NHL Draft Lottery will assign the top three slots in the first round of the NHL Draft – a change from prior years, when the Draft Lottery was used to determine the winner of the first overall selection exclusively.

Based on regular-season finish, the allocation of odds for the first drawing of the 2016 NHL Draft Lottery is as follows:
