DUCKS POST SIXTH CONSECUTIVE VICTORY
The Ducks scored three unanswered goals in the third period to stretch their season-high win streak to six consecutive games and improve to 13-3-1 in 17 contests since the holiday break.

* At 25-18-7 (57 points), the Ducks moved three points ahead of the Coyotes (24-22-6, 54 points) for third place in the Pacific Division. They also climbed within a point of the idle Sharks (27-19-4, 58 points) for second place.

* The Ducks are averaging 4.16 goals per game over their current six game stretch, notching four or more goals in four of the six contests.

* Corey Perry scored the go-ahead goal at 2:07 of the third period and has 4-3—7 in his last six outings. He leads the club in game-winning goals (4), goals (21) and points (35) this season (50 GP).

* Frederik Andersen (23 saves) picked up his fifth consecutive personal victory (1.80 GAA, .936 SV%), two shy of his career-high win streak set last season (7-0-0, Jan. 2-27, 2015). He has allowed two or fewer goals in each of his last seven appearances.

LIGHTNING EARN EIGHTH STRAIGHT HOME WIN
Ondrej Palat (2-0—2) and Anton Stralman (2-0—2) each scored twice to lead the Lightning to their eighth straight win at Amalie Arena and 10th victory in their past 11 games overall.

* At 29-18-4 (62 points), the Lightning moved two points ahead of the idle Bruins (27-18-6, 60 points) for second place in the Atlantic Division. They also climbed within five points of the idle Panthers (31-15-5, 67 points) for first place.

* The Lightning’s eight-game home winning streak is two shy of equaling the franchise record set last season (Dec. 11, 2014 – Jan. 31, 2015: 10-0-0).

* Tyler Johnson (1-2—3) has scored the game-winning goal in back-to-back Lightning wins. Alex Killorn (1-1—2), Steven Stamkos (0-2—2) and Nikita Kucherov (0-2—2) also recorded multiple points.

* Ben Bishop (27 saves) has earned wins in six of his last seven appearances (1.80 GAA, .932 SV%, 1 SO) and improved to 21-14-3 overall (2.02 GAA, .926 SV%, 2 SO). He ranks among the League-leaders with 21 wins (8th), a 2.02 goals-against average (2nd) and a .926 save percentage (10th).

STRONG FIRST PERIOD LIFTS HURRICANES OVER JETS
The Hurricanes scored four times in the first period – including three goals in the opening 4:33 of the contest – en route to a 5-3 victory over the Jets.

* Per Elias, the Hurricanes/Whalers scored three goals in the opening five minutes of a game for the third time in franchise history. Also: Jan. 23, 1988 vs. MNS (3:47) and Nov. 9, 2010 vs. EDM (4:10).

* Elias adds the last time an NHL team scored three goals so quickly after the opening face-off was March 31, 2013, when the Blackhawks did so in 4:12 against the Red Wings (7-1 W).

* Justin Faulk scored the game-winning goal at 10:04 of the opening frame. With four game-winning goals and 15 goals overall this season (53 GP), Faulk equaled his career-highs in both categories from 2014-15 (82 GP).

* Cam Ward made 33 saves – including several in the dying seconds of the middle frame– to improve to 15-11-5 this season (2.43 GAA, .905 SV%, 1 SO). Ward has earned points in six consecutive appearances (4-0-2).

* Jordan Staal (1-2—3), Andrej Nestrasil (2-0—2) and Joakim Nordstrom (0-2—2) all registered multiple points.

KARLSSON SCORES TWICE TO LEAD BLUE JACKETS OVER FLAMES
William Karlsson (2-0—2) scored twice to help the Blue Jackets overcome a 1-0 deficit and earn their fourth victory in their past five games.

* Karlsson registered his second multi-goal game of the season and the third such performance of his career (also Nov. 14, 2015 vs. ARI: 2-0—2 and Oct. 13, 2014 at BUF: 2-0—2 w/ ANA). According to Elias, Karlsson – who has scored nine goals in 74 career NHL games – has as many multi-goal games (three) as one-goal games (three).

* Joonas Korpisalo made 30 saves to improve to 6-1-1 in his last eight starts and 7-6-2 overall (2.64 GAA, .919 SV%).

MILESTONES & BENCHMARKS
* Coyotes captain Shane Doan (1-1—2) scored the 122nd power-play goal of his NHL career to tie Dale Hawerchuk for first on the Coyotes/Jets all-time list. With 387-541-928 (1,437 GP), Doan also sits one point shy of tying Hawerchuk (379-550—929 in 713 GP) for most points in franchise history.

* Penguins forward Chris Kunitz (0-2—2) eclipsed the 300-assist milestone (233-301—534 in 781 GP) and has points in four consecutive games (2-6—8).

* Penguins forward Oskar Sundqvist, the 81st overall selection in the 2012 NHL Draft, made his NHL debut (11:11 TOI).

LOOSE PUCKS
Penguins captain Sidney Crosby (1-0—1) extended his point streak to nine games (9-6—15), including at least one goal in each of his last five outings (7-2—9)... Jets forwardNikolaj Ehlers (0-1—1) extended his point streak to six games (4-4—8), while Penguins forward Phil Kessel (0-1—1) stretched his point streak to five games (3-3—6)... Jets defenseman Dustin Byfuglien (0-2—2) has 4-3—7 in his last four outings... Ducks forward Patrick Maroon (1-2—3) registered the first three-point game of his NHL career (193 GP)... Ducks defenseman Hampus Lindholm (1-0—1) has scored in a career-high three consecutive games (3-0—3)... ICYMI: Kole Calhoun and Tyler Skaggs of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim joined baseball Hall of Fame member Rod Carew in a ceremonial puck drop prior to the ARI-ANA game.

ALL CANADIAN TEAMS IN ACTION AS KAMLOOPS HOSTS HOCKEY DAY IN CANADA
Kamloops, B.C. will host the 16th annual Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada featuring a 13.5-hour national broadcast starting at Noon ET that includes all seven Canadian teams in action. The broadcast will be hosted by Ron MacLean, on-site at the festivities in Kamloops, alongside multiple special guests including Don Cherry, Wendel Clark, Lanny McDonald, Kirk McLean and Darcy Tucker. The full day of hockey programming will also include stories, features and interviews with President and CEO of Hockey Canada Tom Renney, former NHLer Mark Recchi and three-time Olympic Winter Games gold medalistMeghan Agosta.

NHL NETWORK SPOTLIGHTS TWO DIVISIONAL RIVALRIES
NHL Network features two games on Saturday, both of which highlight divisional rivalries:

* The Rangers (28-18-5, 61 points), who sit second in the Metropolitan Division, visit the Flyers in a matinee game on Saturday afternoon. The Flyers (23-18-8, 54 points) are four points back of the Devils (26-20-6, 58 points) for the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.

* The Central Division takes center stage on NHL Network on Saturday evening when the division’s top team, the Blackhawks (35-16-4, 74 points), visit the second place Stars (33-14-5, 71 points). Chicago and Dallas also own the top two records in the Western Conference.
