The Capitals are 15-5-1 (31 points) this season, marking the team’s second best start (in terms of points and wins) in franchise history. Alex Ovechkin and Steven Stamkos, who have combined to win the Maurice Richard Trophy seven times, have faced each other 31 times in regular-season play and the Capitals have posted a 22-7-2 record in those games. Ovechkin has scored a goal in 15 of those 31 games and is (19-25—44), while Stamkos has (13-12—25).

CANUCKS TAKE ON THE WESTERN CONFERENCE’S TOP TEAM IN DALLAS
The Stars 17-5-0 record is the team’s best mark through the first 22 games of a season in franchise history. Jamie Benn is riding a six game point streak (6-5—11) as is Tyler Seguin (3-5—8).
