PERRY DOUSES FLAMES, LIFTS DUCKS INTO CONFERENCE FINALS
Matt Beleskey tied the game less than one minute into the third period and Corey Perry scored the winning goal at 2:26 of overtime to propel the Ducks to the Western Conference Final for the fourth time in franchise history and first time since 2007, when they captured their first Stanley Cup.

* The Ducks improved to 14-9 in 23 all-time playoff games in which they could eliminate their opponent, including a 10-2 record at Honda Center.

* Perry became the fourth player in Ducks history to score a series-clinching goal in overtime. The others: Steve Rucchin (April 16, 2003 vs. DET, Game 4 of CQF), Scott Niedermayer (May 3, 2007 vs. VAN – 2OT, Game 5 of CSF) and Nick Bonino (April 27, 2014 at DAL, Game 6 of FR).

* The Ducks improved to 8-1 this postseason, marking the first time in club history they have won eight of nine games at any point in the playoffs. That includes a 5-0 record at Honda Center; only one other team has an unblemished record at home this postseason, their opponent in the Western Conference Final (CHI: 5-0).

* The Ducks also improved to 4-0 when trailing after two periods this postseason. In the First Round vs. WPG, they became the first team in NHL history to win three consecutive games in one playoff series when trailing after 40 minutes (Games 1-3).

* The Ducks’ third-period comeback continued a trend from the regular season. In 2014-15, they set an NHL record for wins when trailing at any point in the third period (18) and also matched a League record with 12 victories when down after two periods (12-23-0).

* Overall, the Ducks have outscored their opponents 16-3 in the third period this postseason. Their 16 goals and +13 differential lead the NHL (no other team is better than +4).

* Six of the Ducks’ eight wins this postseason have seen the team overcome a deficit at any point in the contest. They posted 24 such victories during the regular season (out of 51 total wins).

* The Ducks extended their home winning streak against the Flames to 22 games dating to April 27, 2006 (regular season and playoffs).

* The Ducks improved to 2-0 in two all-time playoff series against the Flames. In their lone other meeting, in the 2006 Western Conference Quarterfinals, the team advanced behind 22 saves from Ilya Bryzgalov in Game 7 at CGY (3-0 W).

* The Ducks will face the Blackhawks in the Western Conference Final. The clubs have never met during in the playoffs; Chicago won the regular-season series 2-1-0 (ANA: 1-2-0).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

* A California-based team reached the Western Conference Final for the sixth consecutive year and 10th time in the past 12 seasons.

* Since 2003, only the Blackhawks (5) have made the Conference Finals more times than the Ducks (4). Five other teams have reached the third round three times (DET, LAK, PHI, PIT and SJS).

* Corey Perry, who briefly left the game after a collision in the second period, scored his first career playoff overtime goal. He also recorded his fifth career game-winning goal in the postseason and second this year (other April 16 vs. WPG: 2-2—4). OnlyTeemu Selanne (8) has more such goals in Ducks playoff history.

* Overall, Perry leads all players with 7-8—15 this postseason (9 GP). He has registered at least one point in seven of his nine appearances.

* Matt Beleskey scored for the fifth consecutive game (5-0—5) to establish a franchise postseason record. He also matched the longest such run in the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs – Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane, who Beleskey will face in the Western Conference Final, also has an active five-game goal streak (6-2—8).

* Per Elias, Beleskey became the first player to score in each of the first five games of a playoff series (for any team) since Mikael Samuelsson did so with the Canucks in the 2010 CQF vs. LAK (7-2—9 in 5 GP).

* Ryan Kesler provided the other goal, his fourth of the playoffs. He also won 18 of 22 draws (81.8%) – his 63.7% success rate in the face-off circle leads all players this postseason.

* Cam Fowler and Jakob Silfverberg each collected two assists. Silfverberg has 3-8—11 this postseason (9 GP) after totaling 4-2—6 in his first 25 career playoff outings.

RANGERS SURVIVE CAPITALS’ RALLY, FORCE GAME 7 ON WEDNESDAY
The Rangers built a 4-1 lead early in the third period and held off a furious Capitals rally – behind 42 saves from Henrik Lundqvist – to force a Game 7 on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden.

* The Rangers forced a Game 7 when trailing 3-1 in a best-of-seven series for the third time in franchise history (1-17 all-time in that scenario). The other instances: the 1939 SF vs. BOS and 2014 SR vs. PIT.

* The Rangers won a Game 6 when facing elimination on the road for the third time in club history, also in the 1994 CF vs. NJD and 2012 CQF vs. OTT.

* The Rangers improved to 13-3 in their last 16 postseason games when facing elimination (dating to Game 6 of the 2012 CQF vs. OTT). They have won seven of their last eight such contests over the last two years.

* The Rangers also improved to 40-0-1 when leading after two periods this season (regular season and playoffs). That includes a 4-0 record in the postseason.

* Lundqvist’s 42 saves were his most in a non-overtime playoff game. He earned his 50th career postseason victory, becoming the 18th goaltender in NHL history to reach the milestone (2.18 GAA, .924 SV%, 9 SO in 103 GP).

* Lundqvist improved to 13-3 in the last 16 games in which the Rangers have faced elimination (1.42 GAA, .955 SV%, 2 SO). That includes a 7-1 record over the last two years (1.37 GAA, .960 SV%).

* Chris Kreider (2-0—2) posted his first career multi-goal playoff game, scoring in theopening and closing minutes of the first period. Elias says he became the first player in Rangers history to achieve that feat (in any postseason period).

* Elias adds that Kreider, who also scored at 0:38 of the first period in Game 2 vs. WSH, became the fourth player in Stanley Cup Playoffs history to record two opening-minute goals in one series. The others to do so: Maple Leafs forward Sid Smith (Games 1 and 4 of 1951 F vs. MTL), Flyers forward Reggie Leach (Games 1 and 4 of 1976 F vs. MTL) and Canadiens forward Mario Tremblay (Games 2 and 3 of 1984 DSF vs. BOS). The last player to post at least two such goals in one playoff year was Canadiens forward Brian Gionta, who set an NHL record with three such goals (in three different series) in 2010.

* Dan Boyle registered what stood as the game-winning goal, his third such tally in 118 career playoff appearances (and first since May 1, 2013 at VAN w/ SJS). Rick Nashadded the other goal, snapping an eight-game drought dating to Game 2 of the FR vs. PIT (1-1—2).

* Derick Brassard collected two assists. He leads the club with 5-3—8 this postseason (11 GP) and has 13-19—32 in his playoff career (46 GP).

* The Rangers and Capitals will face off in a Game 7 for the fourth time overall and third consecutive playoff series (also 2012 CSF and 2013 CQF, both won by NYR).
