KUCHEROV, BISHOP SPARK LIGHTNING IN DOUBLE-OVERTIME
Nikita Kucherov scored the decisive goal at 2:06 of double-overtime and Ben Bishopmade 43 saves, including 13 after regulation, to power the Lightning to a 1-0 series lead against the Canadiens.

* The Lightning improved to 10-7 in 17 all-time playoff overtime games, including a 9-3 record on the road. They have won both of their overtime contests this postseason, also in Game 4 of the FR at DET.

* The Lightning, who were swept by the Canadiens in the First Round of the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs, also improved to 6-0-0 this season vs. MTL (regular season and playoffs). During the regular season, they became the first team to sweep a season series of at least five games against the Canadiens since 1983-84 (BUF: 8-0-0).

* Kucherov, a second-round selection (58th overall) by the Lightning in the 2011 NHL Draft, scored his second career playoff goal and first in overtime (10 GP). At 21 years, 318 days, Elias says he became the youngest player in franchise history to register a postseason overtime goal. Vincent Lecavalier previously held that mark, doing so at 22 years, 359 days in the Lightning’s 4-3 victory in Game 3 of the 2003 CQF at WSH.

* Kucherov has 1-4—5 and a League-leading +7 rating (tied w/ teammate Andrej Sustr) during the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs (8 GP). During the regular season, Kucherov’s second in the NHL, he ranked third on the club with 29-36—65 and also shared first in the League with a +38 rating (82 GP).

* Via Elias, Bishop’s 43 saves were the most in a playoff game by a Lightning goaltender since April 20, 2011, when Dwayne Roloson stopped 50 shots in Game 4 of the CQF vs. PIT. Bishop improved to 5-3 overall this postseason with a 1.68 goals-against average, .933 save percentage and one shutout (8 GP).

* Bishop also extended his shutout streak to 133:08 before allowing the tying goal with 5:13 remaining in the third period. Elias notes that his shutout streak was the second-longest in franchise playoff history, behind Nikolai Khabibulin’s 147:05 stretch from April 10-16, 2004 vs. NYI.

* Overall, Bishop improved to 11-1-2 in 15 career appearances vs. MTL (regular season and playoffs, 1.46 GAA, .945 SV%, 1 SO). That includes a perfect 6-0-0 record this season (regular season and playoffs, 1.41 GAA, .945 SV%, 1 SO).

* Tyler Johnson opened the scoring at 2:34 of the third period with his League-leading seventh goal of the postseason (7-1—8 in 8 GP). He scored three times in four games against the Canadiens during the regular season, including an overtime goal on March 10 at MTL.

* Per Elias, the Lightning became the third team in Stanley Cup Playoffs history to record a multi-overtime win in Game 1 after needing seven games to advance in their prior series. The other clubs to achieve that feat: the 1971 Blackhawks, who defeated the Canadiens in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final after eliminating the Rangers in seven games in the Semifinals, and 1993 Maple Leafs, who beat the Blues in Game 1 of the Norris Division Final after ousting the Red Wings in seven games in the Norris Division Semifinals.

DID YOU KNOW?
The Canadiens went to double-overtime in Game 1 of their Second Round series for the second consecutive year. In 2014 (also on May 1), P.K. Subban scored at 4:17 of the second extra frame to lift the club to a 1-0 series lead at BOS (en route to an eventual seven-game series victory).

This marked the 11th game of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs that has required overtime and the third that has gone to multiple extra sessions. Road clubs improved to 7-4 overall, including a 2-1 mark in multi-overtime contests.

WILD RALLY, BUT BLACKHAWKS ESCAPE WITH 1-0 SERIES LEAD
The Wild erased a three-goal deficit in an 8:09 span of the second period, but Teuvo Teravainen scored the tiebreaking goal late in the frame to lift the Blackhawks to a 1-0 series lead.

* The Blackhawks improved to 9-3 in 12 all-time playoff games against the Wild. That includes a perfect 7-0 record at United Center and 3-0 mark in Game 1s.

* At 20 years, 232 days, Elias says Teravainen became the third-youngest player in Blackhawks history to register a winning goal in a playoff game. The only two to do so at a younger age: Jeremy Roenick (2x, at 19 years, 99 days in 1989 vs. STL and 20 years, 89 days in 1990 vs. MIN) and Bill Mosienko (at 20 years, 142 days in 1942 vs. BOS).

* Teravainen scored his first career postseason goal (3 GP), snapping a seven-game drought dating to the regular season. The 18th overall selection by the Blackhawks in the 2012 NHL Draft, Teravainen has 5-6—11 and two game-winning goals in 40 career appearances (regular season and playoffs).

* Brandon Saad notched his third goal of the postseason just 75 seconds after the opening face-off. Patrick Kane and Marcus Kruger also scored in the first period to give the Blackhawks a 3-0 lead.

* Kane, who led all players with 2-6—8 in four contests against the Wild during the regular season, played in his 100th career playoff game (40-59—99). He has 4-6—10 in 12 career postseason outings vs. MIN, including a pair of game-winning goals in 2014.

* Duncan Keith, who also skated in his 100th career playoff game (14-49—63), collected two assists. He leads all defensemen with 2-7—9 this postseason and also paces all players with 217:03 of total time on ice (7 GP).

* Marian Hossa added one assist. He has 4-12—16 in 12 career playoff games vs. MIN (1.33 points per game), compared to 13-12—25 in 32 career-regular season meetings (0.78 points per game).

* After going 25-0-0 when leading after two periods during the regular season, the Blackhawks improved to 2-0 in that scenario during the playoffs.
