* Perry extended his goal-scoring streak to a career-high six consecutive games (7-2—9), besting his previous mark of five set March 19-26, 2011 (8-2—10). His six-game run also is tied for the longest goal streak in the NHL this season with St. Louis’ Alexander Steen and Tampa Bay’s Steven Stamkos. Perry has points in eight straight games dating to Nov. 23 (8-3—11).

* Perry became the third NHLer this season to reach the 20-goal mark (33 GP). He is tied for second in goals with Steen (28 GP), two behind League-leader Alex Ovechkin (28 GP).

* Captain Ryan Getzlaf collected an assist to extend his point streak to 12 games (6-9—15), one shy of the longest such streak in the NHL this season (set by Steen Oct. 17-Nov. 16). Getzlaf has recorded at least one point in each of his last 14 games dating to Nov. 6 (10-11—21), but missed three team games Nov. 10-14. It marks the first time he has posted points in 14 straight individual games since Dec. 22, 2007-Jan. 23, 2008 (6-16—22 during 15-game streak).

* Getzlaf (16-21—37 in 30 GP) and Perry (20-15—35 in 33 GP) both place in the top five in League scoring. Their 36 combined goals are the most by any two teammates this season, while their 72 combined points are second to Penguins forwards Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin (81).

* Defenseman Cam Fowler tied a career high with 1-2—3, his first three-point game since Nov. 1, 2011. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, he became the first Anaheim blueliner to score a shorthanded goal since Oct. 15, 2007, when Sean O’Donnell did so in a 6-3 victory over Detroit.

MALKIN, CROSBY LEAD PENGUINS
Evgeni Malkin scored in his return from a two-game absence and Sidney Crosby potted the eventual game-winner in leading the Penguins to their sixth consecutive home victory and sixth win in their past seven games overall.

* The Penguins improved to 13-3-0 this season at CONSOL Energy Center, tied for the most home-ice victories with the Bruins (13-3-2) and Wild (13-3-2). They are 31-9-0 at home dating to 2012-13, the most home-ice wins in the NHL (two ahead of the Bruins and Kings).

* Malkin has recorded at least one point in each of his past 10 games dating to Nov. 18 (5-15—20). He also has points in 16 of his past 17 outings (5-23—28).

* Crosby has collected at least one point in 10 of his past 12 games, including six multi-point efforts (7-11—18). He also has registered at least one point in each of his past 10 games at CONSOL Energy Center (5-9—14) and 15 of 16 home games this season (8-16—24).

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Monday marked the first time Malkin and Crosby each scored in a Pittsburgh win (regular season or playoffs) in which the team only recorded two goals. They had previously done so twice in losses in which the Penguins scored exactly two goals (Nov. 12, 2007 vs. Devils and Jan. 23, 2013 vs. Maple Leafs).

* Crosby (16-27—43 in 32 GP) and Malkin (8-30—38 in 30 GP) rank first and second, respectively, in League scoring.

* The Penguins improved to 8-1-1 in their last 10 meetings with the Blue Jackets, including four straight wins for the first time in team history.

LACK RECORDS FIRST NHL SHUTOUT
Eddie Lack made 31 saves to record his first NHL shutout and lead the Canucks to their season-high fifth consecutive victory. Lack has allowed two or fewer goals in seven of his eight NHL appearances, posting a 4-2-0 record with a 2.08 goals-against average and .925 save percentage. Following his performance, Lack was awarded the Haida hat as the team’s player of the game (via the Canucks’ Twitter).

MacARTHUR, SPEZZA SPUR SENATORS
Clarke MacArthur scored twice in regulation and Jason Spezza added two assists, plus the deciding goal in the shootout, to give the Senators points in three of their past four games (2-1-1). MacArthur, who signed with Ottawa as a free agent during the offseason, has at least one point in nine of his past 11 games (8-5—13) and has posted 11-14—25 in 30 games this season after totaling 8-12—20 in 40 games with the Maple Leafs in 2012-13.

LOOSE PUCKS
Playing in his 18th career contest, Flyers forward Michael Raffl recorded his first NHL goal and multi-point game (1-1—2). Raffl, who signed with the Flyers as an undrafted free agent after playing the past two seasons in Sweden, is the 10th Austrian-born player to score a goal in the NHL . . . Canucks defenseman Christopher Tanev tallied his first game-winning goal of the season and the second of his NHL career (125 GP). He has 2-8—10 in 33 games this season, already establishing career highs in assists and points . . . Ducks forward Daniel Winnik set a career high with three assists. He has 12 helpers in 33 games this season, three shy of his career best (four times, most recently in 2011-12) . . . Islanders captain John Tavares scored his team-leading 12th goal of the season. He ranks sixth in the NHL with 34 points in 31 games . . . Blue Jackets forward Ryan Johansen recorded an assist to extend his point streak to five games (2-5—7) . . . Flyers forward Steve Downie played in his 300th NHL game.
