ERIKSSON LIFTS BRUINS IN OVERTIME
After surrendering the tying goal with 8:21 remaining in regulation, Loui Eriksson scored at 1:30 of overtime to help the Bruins snap a three-game skid and earn their second win in their past eight outings (2-4-2).

* With the victory, the Bruins (16-13-3, 35 points) leapfrogged the Panthers (13-8-8, 34 points) and Capitals (14-10-6, 34 points) for the second Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.

* Eriksson recorded his seventh career overtime goal and first since joining the Bruins for the 2013-14 season. All seven of those goals have come since the start of the 2008-09 campaign; per Elias, only Washington’s Alex Ovechkin (10) and Tampa Bay’s Steven Stamkos (8) have posted more overtime goals in that span.

* Erkisson has three goals in his past five outings (3-1—4), equaling his total from the first 27 contests of the season (3-10—13).

* Carl Soderberg posted 1-1—2, including the primary assist on Eriksson’s overtime winner, to snap a 15-game goal drought. He ranks second on the club with 6-15—21 in 32 starts.

* Patrice Bergeron also snapped an 11-game drought with his sixth goal of the season. He paces the Bruins with 22 points in 32 outings.

* Niklas Svedberg made 35 saves, including 20 in the second period, to improve to 5-4-0 with a 2.22 goals-against average, .927 save percentage and one shutout in 11 career appearances.

* Four of Svedberg’s five career victories have come in extra time (3 in OT, 1 in SO). Elias says he is the first goaltender in Bruins history to require overtime in at least four of his first five career wins and the first goaltender on any team with that distinction since Reto Berra went past 60 minutes in each of his first five career wins with the Flames from Nov. 3 – Dec. 23, 2013.

* The Bruins picked up their fourth all-time win against the Wild (4-11-1); three of those victories have come in Minnesota (3-4-1).

SHUTOUTS POWER SENATORS, STARS
Both Craig Anderson (34 saves) and Kari Lehtonen (27 saves) recorded their 29th career shutouts to power the Senators and Stars, respectively, to victories on Wednesday:

* Anderson posted his third shutout of the season, tied for third in the NHL, to help the Senators extend their point streak to three games (2-0-1). He now has an 8-2-1 record with a 1.86 goals-against average, .948 save percentage and two shutouts in 11 career appearances against the Devils, including a 5-1-0 mark since joining the Senators in 2010-11.

* Elias says Anderson’s .773 career points percentage versus the Devils is the highest among active goaltenders with a minimum of 10 games. Rangers netminder Henrik Lundqvist ranks second with a .667 career points percentage in 51 appearances (31-14-6).

* Kyle Turris accounted for both Senators goals, scoring on the team’s opening shot at 2:47 of the first period and closing the game with an empty-net tally with 0.6 seconds left on the clock. He snapped a 10-game goal drought and registered his first multi-goal performance since March 20, 2014 vs. CGY (2-1—3).

* The Senators improved to 6-1-1 in their last eight meetings with the Devils dating to Feb. 18, 2013, including a 3-1-0 mark at Prudential Center.

* Lehtonen earned his second shutout of the season to lead the Stars to their third victory in their past four games. Lehtonen, who posted a 2-7-0 record in his first 10 career appearances against Vancouver, has won his last six outings versus the Canucks, registering a 1.12 goals-against average, .968 save percentage and one shutout in that span.

* The Stars recorded their first all-time shutout in Vancouver. They have shut out the Canucks on five previous occasions (combining Stars/North Stars history), with their last such performance coming on March 18, 2004. In that game, Marty Turco stopped all 20 shots he faced and both Jason Arnott and Bill Guerin tallied 1-2—3 in a 3-0 win.

* Colton Sceviour potted the go-ahead goal at 2:53 of the second period. It marked his third career game-winning goal and first since Dec. 19, 2013, also vs. VAN.

* The Stars picked up their sixth consecutive victory over the Canucks dating to April 18, 2013, and also earned their third straight win at Rogers Arena dating to Feb. 15, 2013.

LOOSE PUCKS
Despite suffering the overtime loss, Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom posted 22 saves and now has a 5-0-2 record with a 1.55 goals-against average, .948 save percentage and two shutouts in seven career appearances versus the Bruins . . . Devils netminder Cory Schneider (14 saves) made his League-leading 30th start/appearance of the season . . . Both skating in their 700th NHL contests, Wild forward Jason Pominville potted the game-tying goal off an assist from defenseman Ryan Suter . . . Bruins forward Gregory Campbell logged 7:30 of ice-time and five penalty minutes while celebrating his 31st birthday . . . The Flames signed head coach Bob Hartley to a multi-year contract extension. Hartley has a 400-320-93 career record in 813 games behind the bench, including a 71-79-13 mark in three seasons with the Flames . . . The NHL fined Predators forward James Neal $2,000 as supplementary discipline under NHL Rule 64 (Diving/Embellishment).

CANADIENS HONOR KOIVU
After announcing his retirement in early September, the Canadiens will honor longtime captain Saku Koivu during a pregame ceremony at Bell Centre. Koivu, who was selected by Montreal 21st overall in the 1993 NHL Draft, played the first 13 seasons of his 18-year career for the Canadiens, totaling 191-450—641 in 792 games. He also served as captain of the club from 1999-00 through his last season in 2008-09, a stretch only equaled in Canadiens history by the late Jean Béliveau.

“This will kind of be the end of my career in a way, to meet everybody in Montreal at least one more time,” Koivu told the Montreal Gazette. “It’s going to be different than when I came back and played [with the Ducks]. Those were hard ones because of the emotions, but this one’s going to be kind of reuniting with the Canadiens. It’s going to be awesome, but it’s going to be emotional.”

BLUE JACKETS AIM FOR EIGHTH STRAIGHT WIN
The Blue Jackets will try to match a franchise record when they play host to the Capitals at Nationwide Arena. Winners of seven in a row, Columbus has posted one eight-game winning streak in franchise history: Jan. 6-23, 2014. Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky has started all seven games during the current stretch, compiling a 1.63 goals-against average, .950 save percentage and one shutout in that span. This marks the third of five meetings between the Blue Jackets and Capitals this season; Columbus has won three of the past four matchups, including a 3-2 victory last Thursday on the strength of a Nick Foligno overtime goal.

BLUES, KINGS COMPLETE HOME-AND-HOME
The Blues and Kings will complete their home-and-home series when they meet at STAPLES Center. St. Louis scored five unanswered goals, highlighted by 3-1—4 from Vladimir Tarasenko, to pick up a 5-2 victory in the first half of the set on Tuesday at Scottrade Center. Los Angeles, however, has won 15 of the last 19 meetings between these clubs dating to March 22, 2012, including a six-game series victory in the 2013 Western Conference Quarterfinals. Overall, the Blues have won five straight and seven of their last nine outings. The Kings, meanwhile, return to STAPLES Center after a 1-3-1 road trip, but are 11-4-1 this season on home ice.
