ST. LOUIS REACHES 1,000 CAREER POINTS . . .
Martin St. Louis recorded a goal and an assist to reach 1,000 career NHL points (379-621—1,000). St. Louis is the 81st player overall, and just the fifth active skater to reach the milestone, following Jaromir Jagr (709-1,061—1,770), Joe Thornton (349-865—1,214), Jarome Iginla (563-618—1,181) and Marian Hossa (467-544—1,011).

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, St. Louis is just the sixth undrafted player to make his NHL debut in the 1969-70 season or later (when the amateur draft expanded to cover any amateur player of qualifying age throughout the world) and reach 1,000 NHL points, joining Wayne Gretzky (894-1,963—2,857), Adam Oates (341-1,079—1,420), Peter Stastny (450-789—1,239), Dino Ciccarelli (608-592—1,200) and Joe Mullen (502-561—1,063) – all of whom have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

“It’s always great when you achieve something, but I don’t think it crosses your mind when you try and play in this league. I think there are goals that become achievable as you go through. I got a chance to play a thousand games and that’s pretty special to me. To get a thousand, it’s a great accomplishment. I’m not going to hide my feelings, I’m proud of that. To do it on a win, do it on a goal, I think it makes it special and the boys really played well today.” -Martin St Louis
