FLYERS TO HOST RANGERS IN THANKSGIVING SHOWDOWN
The Flyers and Rangers will meet in the first half of a home-and-home series when they face-off in Philadelphia for the 2014 Discover NHL Thanksgiving Showdown at 1:00 p.m. ET (NBC, SN). The Rangers have won 14 of their last 18 regular-season matchups versus the Flyers dating to March 6, 2011, though the home team has won each of the past six contests. In their only meeting this season on Nov. 19th, Cam Talbot posted 31 saves in a 2-0 Rangers win. Flyers forward Jakub Voracek sits second overall in the NHL with 30 points (8-22—30), just one behind League leader Sidney Crosby while Rangers forward Martin St. Louis remains two points shy of 1,000 in his NHL career. The two clubs will complete the back-to-back set on Saturday afternoon at Madison Square Garden.

FORSBERG, RINNE LEAD PREDATORS TO OT VICTORY
Filip Forsberg scored at 3:55 of overtime and Pekka Rinne made 37 saves – including a penalty shot stop in overtime – for his second shutout of the season as the Predators picked up their third straight victory. Nashville has won five consecutive home games and nine of their past 12 contests overall (9-3-0).

* With the win, the Predators (15-5-2, 32 points) moved two points ahead of the Blues for sole possession of first place in the Central Division and within one point of the Ducks for top spot in the Western Conference.

* Rinne improved to 9-1-0 with a 1.80 goals-against average and a .936 save percentage in his past 10 games. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Rinne has won nine of 10 appearances for the first time since he posted a career-long 11-game winning streak from Jan. 12 to Feb. 7, 2012. Overall, he leads all goaltenders with 15 wins and a .932 save percentage (tied) and ranks second in the League with a 1.86 goals-against average.

* Rinne’s 37 saves were his highest total in a shutout since a 38-save performance on Jan. 19, 2012 at Columbus. The blank sheet was the 34th of his career.

* Forsberg’s goal was the third game-winner of his career and first overtime tally. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Forsberg's goal marked the seventh time in Predators franchise history that a rookie scored in overtime (last: Seth Jones, Mar. 10 at OTT). He also scored the game-winner in the last meeting between the clubs, a 3-2 victory on November 11th at Bridgestone Arena.

* Forsberg leads all Predators skaters and NHL rookies in goals (10), assists (13), points (23) and game-winning goals (3).

The St. Louis Blues announced they will bring in Martin Brodeuron a tryout…Predators forward Mike Fisher played 12:44 and registered three hits in his season debut . . . Jordan Eberle was stopped on a penalty shot in overtime, the second taken by an Oiler this season – Taylor Hall converted on a second period penalty shot on Oct. 20 vs. TB…Oilers defensemen Mark Fayne and Jeff Petry each registered a career-high six shots . . .The Department of Player Safety suspended Stars forward Ryan Garbutt for two games for kneeing Oilers forward Taylor Hall; they also suspended Jets forward Adam Lowry for one game for boarding Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta.

THANKSGIVING DOUBLEHEADER ON NHL NETWORK
The NHL Network (U.S.) will air a doubleheader beginning at 4:00 p.m. ET when the Blackhawks visit the Ducks for their second match-up this season. The Ducks won the first contest 1-0 in Chicago on the strength of John Gibson’s first career NHL shutout and Devante Smith-Pelly’s shorthanded game-winner. Overall the Western Conference-leading Ducks (14-4-5, 33 points) have won three straight games and have recorded a point in nine of their past 10 outings (4-1-5). The Blackhawks (13-8-1, 27 points) are playing the second-last game of their annual “Circus Trip”, having posted a 3-1-0 record so far. In the back-end of the double-header, the Bruins (13-9-1, 27 points) welcome the Jets (12-9-3, 27 points) to TD Garden at 7:00 p.m. ET. The Bruins are 3-1-1 in their last five games and have won each of their past 12 home games against Winnipeg/Atlanta dating to Dec. 31, 2007. The Jets look to close out their current three-game road trip with a perfect record after securing wins in Columbus and Buffalo earlier this week.
