* The Islanders improved to 15-6-0 this season, including four consecutive victories; it marks the first time in franchise history the team has won 15 of its first 21 games.

* The Islanders also have recorded nine wins in a 10-game span for the first time since 1989-90, when they posted a nine-game winning streak Dec. 31 – Jan. 19.

* Halak recorded his seventh consecutive victory, one shy of his career-long eight-game winning streak for the Blues Feb. 23 – March 11, 2012. He has a 1.11 goals-against average, .957 save percentage and three shutouts during the current seven-game stretch.

* Halak is the first Islanders goaltender to win seven straight starts since Rick DiPietro Feb. 11 – March 14, 2006 (one loss in relief in that span); the first Islanders goaltender to win seven consecutive decisions since Chris Osgood Dec. 23, 2002 – Jan. 11, 2003 (one no-decision in that span); and the first Islanders goaltender to win seven straight appearances since Mark Fitzpatrick Dec. 16, 1989 – Jan. 17, 1990 (8-0-0).
