BURNZIE’S BUZZCUT FOR CHARITY
Defenseman Brent Burns – along with Sharks teammates Chris Tierney, Barclay Goodrow, James Sheppard, Scott Hannan, Joe Pavelski and Mirco Mueller – on Monday shaved their heads and beards as part of Burnzie’s Buzzcut for Charity.
The second annual event raised more than $15,000 for Defending the Blue Line, the Katie Moore Foundation and the San Francisco Zoo.
“I think it just shows what a good bunch of guys we have here, and what a good room it is,” Burns told the San Jose Mercury News. “To have guys step in and do that, it’s great for the fans.”

STAMKOS, LIGHTNING MAKE A WISH COME TRUE
Lightning captain Steven Stamkos, together with partners MicroLumen and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, helped grant the wish of Noah Difilippo, a 12-year-old hockey player who is battling a form of melanoma.
Difilippo, a native of upstate New York, flew to Tampa, where he received a VIP tour of the Lightning locker room, laced up the skates for practice with Stamkos and goaltender Evgeni Nabokov, and then attended the team’s morning skate and Saturday game against the Capitals.
“To be able to see the smile on his face and see how happy his parents were and how much fun he was having, it rubbed off on every one in here and put a smile on everyone else,” Stamkos told the Tampa Tribune. “It’s pretty inspirational for him to be able to go through what he is going through and then get the chance to come down here.”

WILD TRY TO REMAIN PERFECT ON HOME ICE
The Wild will try to maintain their unblemished home record when they welcome the Penguins to Xcel Energy Center. At 5-0-0, Minnesota is the only remaining team without a home loss this season (outscoring opponents 21-6). Pittsburgh, meanwhile, is riding a four-game winning streak, highlighted by a 154:46 shutout streak dating to last Tuesday’s game vs. NJD. Marc-Andre Fleury has been in net for the entirety of the streak and has three shutouts over his past four starts. This marks the first of two meetings between these clubs in 2014-15 (also Jan. 13 in Pittsburgh); the Wild are 10-4-1 all-time in their head-to-head series, including a 4-2-1 record at home.
KINGS LOOK FOR FIRST ROAD WIN IN DALLAS
The Kings will try to end their four-game losing streak and pick up their first road win of the season when they visit the Stars at American Airlines Center. Los Angeles is 6-1-0 on home ice this season, outscoring opponents 20-9, but is 0-3-2 away from STAPLES Center, where they have been outscored 17-8. Dallas is looking to snap a four-game skid of its own (0-2-2), following a 4-1 defeat Saturday in Minnesota. These clubs will complete their entire three-game season series over the next three weeks; the Stars have earned points in nine of their last 12 matchups dating to Nov. 23, 2011 (8-3-1).
