LABARBERA LEADS DUCKS IN EMERGENCY START
Making an emergency start following injuries to Frederik Andersen and John Gibson, Jason LaBarbera posted 16 saves to help the Ducks complete their four-game road trip with a 3-1-0 record.

* LaBarbera was recalled from Norfolk (AHL) earlier Sunday after Andersen did not participate in the team’s morning skate. He then was forced into the starter’s role when Gibson sustained a lower-body injury during warmups.

* LaBarbera, who has played in 183 career NHL games, made his third start – and picked up his third win – in as many days following back-to-back victories for Norfolk against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Friday (14 saves in 3-2 W) and Saturday (22 saves in 2-1 W).

* LaBarbera earned his 61st career NHL victory and first since Oct. 7, 2013, when he made 21 saves for the Oilers in a 5-4 shootout win vs. NJD.

* ICYMI: The Ducks dressed goaltending consultant Dwayne Roloson as their backup following the injuries to Andersen and Gibson. Roloson, 45, has not appeared in an NHL game since April 7, 2012 (4-3 OT W with TBL).

* Down 2-1 after 20 minutes, Hampus Lindholm and Cam Fowler scored 1:44 apart in the middle frame to give the Ducks the lead. Anaheim (10-3-0) has posted nine regulation/overtime wins this season; a different player has registered the decisive goal in each such victory.

* Corey Perry put the Ducks on the board with his League-leading 11th goal of the season. He also is tied for third in the NHL with 15 points in 13 games.

RIEDER LIFTS COYOTES IN NHL DEBUT
Playing in his first NHL game, Tobias Rieder scored what proved to be the winning goal to power the Coyotes to their first victory in Washington since Jan. 1, 2007 (0-3-0).

* Down 3-1 after the first period, the Coyotes recorded five consecutive goals to snap their three-game losing streak.

* Rieder, a native of Landshut, Germany, was selected by the Oilers in the fourth round (114th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft. The Coyotes signed him to a three-year, entry-level contract April 15, 2013.

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Rieder became the first German-born player to score in his NHL debut since Oct. 4, 1997, when Marco Sturm (1-1—2) found the back of the net for the Sharks in a 3-2 win vs. CHI.

* Shane Doan (2-1—3), Antoine Vermette (1-2—3) and Mikkel Boedker (0-2—2) each recorded multi-point games.

* Doan posted the 46th multi-goal game of his NHL career, all with the Coyotes/Jets franchise. Per Elias, his 46 such performances rank fourth in club history – behind Dale Hawerchuk (62), Keith Tkachuk (50) and Paul MacLean (49).

* Sam Gagner added his first goal since being acquired by the Coyotes in an offseason trade.

FORSBERG POWERS PREDATORS PAST CANUCKS
Filip Forsberg posted 2-1—3, including the game-winning goal, to help the Predators improve to 2-1-0 on their six-game road trip.

* Forsberg recorded his first career multi-goal game as well as his first career three-point performance. The 11th overall selection (by WSH) in the 2012 NHL Draft, Forsberg leads all rookies with eight assists and 11 points this season.

* James Neal collected two assists for his second straight multi-point game (2-0—2 Friday at CGY) and third such performance of the season.

* Pekka Rinne made 26 saves to improve to 7-2-1 with a 1.88 goals-against average, .931 save percentage and one shutout in 10 appearances this season.

HUTCHINSON KEEPS THE DOOR SHUT FOR WINNIPEG
Michael Hutchinson stopped all 33 shots he faced to pick up his first career shutout and backstop the Jets to their second straight clean sheet, following a 1-0 shootout win Saturday at NYR (38 saves by Ondrej Pavelec).

* The Jets have not yielded a goal in their last 133:27 of playing time dating to the third period of Thursday’s 2-1 shootout loss at NJD.

* This marks the first time the Jets/Thrashers franchise has posted consecutive shutouts since Oct. 7-9, 2006, when Kari Lehtonen made 22 saves in a 6-0 win vs. FLA and 34 saves in a 1-0 victory at TBL.

* Facing his former teammates, Michael Frolik scored the lone goal at 0:20 of the first period, his first of the season. He now has eight career game-winning tallies (442 GP), including three in 93 outings with Winnipeg.

JOORIS, FLAMES PICK UP RARE WIN IN MONTREAL
Rookie Josh Jooris (2-0—2) recorded his first career multi-goal/point game to lead the Flames to their third victory in their last nine visits to Montreal (dating to 2002-03: 3-5-1) and first since Oct. 13, 2011.

* TJ Brodie set a career high with three assists/points. He ranks second among NHL defensemen with 4-8—12 in 13 games this season; his four goals already match a career best established in 81 outings last season.

* Mark Giordano (1-1—2), Curtis Glencross (1-1—2), Johnny Gaudreau (0-2—2) and Jiri Hudler (0-2—2) also chipped in multi-point games.

* Jonas Hiller made 18 saves to improve to 5-2-1 with a 1.84 goals-against average and .938 save percentage in eight appearances this season.

* The Flames have yet to suffer a regulation loss when scoring first this season (5-0-2).

LINDHOLM CARRIES HURRICANES TO BACK-TO-BACK WINS
After leading the team to its first victory of the season Saturday vs. ARI (2-0—2), Elias Lindholm (1-1—2) scored his second straight game-winning goal to power the Hurricanes past the Kings Sunday.

* Lindholm had two game-winning goals in his first 66 NHL appearances prior to Saturday.

* Rookie Victor Rask posted his first career NHL goal/point (10 GP).

* Cam Ward made 30 saves, extending his personal shutout streak to 100:33 before allowing a second-period goal to Mike Richards.

* The Hurricanes now have earned points in seven of their last eight meetings with the Kings at PNC Arena (dating to 2001-02: 5-1-2).

OVECHKIN, BACKSTROM CLIMB FRANCHISE CHARTS
Despite suffering the loss, Capitals forwards Alex Ovechkin (1-3—4) and Nicklas Backstrom (0-3—3) continued to climb the franchise’s all-time charts with multi-point performances Sunday:

* Ovechkin snapped a six-game goal drought and recorded his 14th career four-point game (and first since Jan. 28 at BUF: 2-2—4). He now has 428-397—825 in his NHL career, matching Peter Bondra (472-353—825) for the most points in Capitals history.
