RANGERS RALLY IN THE THIRD PERIOD TO EDGE WILD
Trailing 3-0 after 40 minutes, the Rangers scored five third-period goals – including the tying and winning markers 37 seconds apart – to defeat the Wild.

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, this marks just the second time in franchise history the Rangers have overcome a 3-0 third-period deficit to win. Their only previous such victory came on Jan. 4, 1956 vs. DET (also 5-4 final score).

* The last time the Rangers rallied from a three-goal deficit at any point in the third period (regardless of the score) was on Dec. 27, 1992, a 6-5 victory over the Bruins highlighted by a hat trick from Alex Kovalev.

* The Rangers also secured their first three-goal comeback win (at any stage in the game) since April 4, 2011 vs. BOS. In that contest, the Bruins opened a 3-0 lead in the second period before the Rangers scored five unanswered goals (including two in the middle frame) en route to a 5-3 victory.

* Per Elias, the Rangers recorded their first five-goal period since March 18, 2011 vs. MTL, when they scored five times in the opening frame of a 6-3 win.

* Five Rangers posted multi-point games: Derick Brassard (1-2—3), Mats Zuccarello (1-2—3), Kevin Klein (1-1—2), Rick Nash (1-1—2) and Matt Hunwick (0-2—2).

* Nash scored his ninth goal of the season (in 9 GP), tying Ducks forward Corey Perry for the League lead. Since joining the Rangers for the 2012-13 season, 25 of Nash’s 56 regular-season goals (44.6%) have come in the third period.

* Anthony Duclair registered the tying goal with 3:48 remaining, the first of his NHL career. Zuccarello then potted the game-winner 37 seconds later, his first of the season.

* Zuccarello now has 31 goals (and 97 points) in his NHL career. With his tally, he passed Espen Knutsen (30-81—111) for the most career goals by a Norwegian-born player in League history.

* The Rangers now have won 68 consecutive games when scoring at least four goals (dating to Oct. 31, 2011 vs. SJS). They also have earned at least one point in 90 straight contests when registering at least four goals (89-0-1 dating to Nov. 14, 2010 vs. EDM).

SCRIVENS, OILERS MAKE IT FOUR STRAIGHT
Ben Scrivens made 29 saves, including 12 in the third period, to record his seventh career shutout (first of the season) and backstop the Oilers to their first four-game winning streak since March 26-April 3, 2013 (5-0-0).

* Scrivens has been in net for all four victories, matching a personal best for his longest career winning streak (Nov. 14-19, 2013).

* After posting a .848 save percentage over his first four appearances of the season (0-3-0), Scrivens now has stopped 110-of-117 shots (.940 SV%) in his last four outings (4-0-0).

* Benoit Pouliot registered 1-1—2, including the game-winning goal – his first score since joining the Oilers as a free agent this offseason.

* Taylor Hall added his team-leading fifth goal and eighth point of the season. He posted career highs in goals (t-27), assists (53) and points (80) in 2013-14.

* The Oilers recorded just their second all-time shutout against the Canadiens (78 GP). The other came on March 1, 1989, when Grant Fuhr made 23 saves and Mark Messier collected 1-2—3 in a 3-0 win at Rexall Place.

LOOSE PUCKS
Matt Cooke (1-1—2) and Justin Fontaine (0-2—2) each recorded multi-point games for the Wild . . . Canadiens forward Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau played in his 300th NHL game . . . The Coyotes added Brian Rolston to their pro scouting and analytics staff . . . The Department of Player Safety suspended Sharks forward John Scott for two games for leaving the bench on a legal line change and starting an altercation . . . Kings forward Jeff Carter, Oilers goaltender Ben Scrivens and Islanders forward Frans Nielsen were named the NHL’s “Three Stars” for the week ending Oct. 26 . . . WILD LOOK TO BOUNCE BACK AGAINST BRUINS
The Wild look to rebound from Monday’s loss when they visit the Bruins in a national telecast on NBCSN. This marks the first of two meetings between these clubs in 2014-15; Minnesota has won 11 of their 14 all-time matchups, including six of seven at TD Garden. Boston, however, claimed its first home victory in the head-to-head series with a 4-1 win March 17 of last season. Overall, the Bruins have won three of their last four outings, including a 4-1 triumph Saturday against the Maple Leafs. The Wild, meanwhile, have outscored their opponents 23-11 this season and have allowed the fewest shots against per game in the League (21.9).

KINGS TRY TO STAY HOT AGAINST FAMILIAR OPPONENT
The Kings, winners of six in a row, will try to extend their hot streak when they face off against the Flyers at Wells Fargo Center. Los Angeles has several former Flyers on its roster, including forwards Jeff Carter, Mike Richards and Justin Williams (as well as assistant coach John Stevens). Philadelphia’s lineup also includes several former Kings – notably Wayne Simmonds and Brayden Schenn. This marks the first of two meetings between these clubs in 2014-15; they split their season series last year, but Los Angeles has won three consecutive trips to the City of Brotherly Love.

TOP WESTERN CONFERENCE CLUBS MEET IN CHICAGO
Two of the top clubs in the Western Conference – the Ducks (7-2-0, 14 points) and Blackhawks (5-2-1, 11 points) – battle for the first time this season when they meet at United Center. Chicago won two of three matchups between these teams in 2013-14, but Anaheim has won five of the last seven in the head-to-head series dating to 2011-12. Overall, the Blackhawks are coming off a 2-1 victory Sunday against the Senators – highlighted by a 32-save performance by Scott Darling in his NHL debut. The Ducks, meanwhile, dropped their most recent decision (4-1 Sunday against the Sharks) following a seven-game winning streak.
