“THAT ’70S LINE” LIFTS KINGS TO SIXTH STRAIGHT WIN . . .
“That ’70s Line” – the trio of Jeff Carter (1-3—4, +3), Tyler Toffoli (1-3—4, +2) and Tanner Pearson (2-0—2, +2) – combined for 4-6—10 and a +7 rating to help the Kings complete their six-game homestand with a perfect 6-0-0 record.

* At 6-1-1 overall, the Kings have matched franchise records for wins (6; accomplished 4x previously, most recently 2010-11) and points (13; also 1980-81 and 1990-91) through the first eight games of a season.

* The Kings completed a perfect six-game homestand for the first time in club history. Their previous best record on such on a homestand was 5-0-1, set during the 1990-91 campaign

* Carter set a career high for assists in one game and also matched a career high for points in one contest. He has registered three prior four-point games, most recently Oct. 8, 2009 vs. PIT (2-2—4 with the Flyers).

* Toffoli established career highs for assists and points in one game, extending his assist/point streak to three games (2-5—7).

* Pearson recorded his second multi-goal game in his past five outings (also Oct. 14 vs. EDM: 2-1—3). He leads all rookies with seven goals and nine points this season.

* The line of Carter (5-7—12, +12), Toffoli (4-8—12, +11) and Pearson (7-2—9, +9) has combined for 16-17—33 and a +32 rating in eight games this season.

* Jonathan Quick posted 22 saves to extend his winning streak to five games. He has a 0.69 goals-against average, .976 save percentage and two shutouts in that span.

. . . SHARKS HALT DUCKS’ STREAK AT SEVEN
Antti Niemi made 33 saves to help the Sharks snap a four-game skid and halt the Ducks’ winning streak at seven games.

* Nine different Sharks players found the scoresheet, including multi-point efforts by Logan Couture (0-2—2) and Patrick Marleau (0-2—2). Marleau now has 4-8—12 in 10 games this season, one off the League lead held by Stars forward Tyler Seguin (6-7—13).

* Brent Burns opened the scoring at 8:25 of the first period, marking the 100th goal of his NHL career. He leads all defensemen with 3-7—10 in 10 games this season.

* Joe Pavelski scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season, which stood as the game-winner. He registered a career-high 41 goals in 2013-14, becoming the fourth player in franchise history to reach the 40-goal milestone in one campaign.

DARLING, BLACKHAWKS EDGE SENATORS
Making his first NHL start/appearance, Scott Darling recorded 32 saves to pick up his first career victory and help the Blackhawks end a two-game skid.

* The 25-year-old Darling, a native of Lemont, Ill., was selected by the Coyotes in the sixth round (153rd overall) of the 2007 NHL Draft. Since 2010-11, he has split time among the SPHL, ECHL and AHL. Darling signed with the Blackhawks July 1 and was recalled by the club Tuesday after posting a 2-0-0 record with a 1.44 goals-against average and .948 save percentage in two appearances this season with the Rockford IceHogs (AHL).

* Per the Blackhawks, Darling became the first Southern Professional Hockey League alum to play in an NHL game. He also became the first local product to appear in a game with the Blackhawks since 2007-08, when defenseman Danny Richmond (Chicago, Ill.) skated in seven contests.

* “I was a little bit terrified and excited,”said Darling, who made 16 of his 32 saves in the third period. “It’s 20 years of work coming into this one game, so I was excited. It went well and I’m just happy.”

* Playing in his 523rd NHL game, Patrick Kane collected an assist to reach 500 career points (181-319—500). According to the Elias Sports Bureau, only eight active players have reached the 500-point milestone faster than Kane: Sidney Crosby (369 GP), Alex Ovechkin (373 GP), Evgeni Malkin (413 GP), Jaromir Jagr (419 GP), Dany Heatley (456 GP), Nicklas Backstrom (501 GP), Jason Spezza (501 GP) and Pavel Datsyuk (505 GP).

* Knotted at 1-1 midway through the second period, Brent Seabrook scored the tiebreaking goal – his 13th career game-winner and first since March 1, 2013 vs. CBJ.

LITTLE POWERS JETS IN OVERTIME
Bryan Little scored with 24.2 seconds remaining in overtime to power the Jets to their second victory in their last three outings.

* Little paces the Jets with five goals this season and is tied for the team lead with six points. He ranked second on the club a career-high 64 points in 2013-14 (23-41—64).

* Andrew Ladd collected 1-1—2, including his 200th NHL assist. He also scored his 100th goal with the Jets/Thrashers franchise, becoming the fifth player in club history to reach that milestone. The others, per Elias, are Ilya Kovalchuk (328), Slava Kozlov (145), Little (127) and Marian Hossa (108).

* Ondrej Pavelec made 22 saves to improve to 4-1-1 with a 1.78 goals-against average and .936 save percentage in six career appearances versus the Avalanche.

The Rangers open a four-game homestand against the Wild at Madison Square Garden. New York also will play 10 of its next 13 games, including seven of its next eight, on home ice. This marks the first of two meetings between these clubs in 2014-15; they split their season series last year, with each team winning at home. Overall, the Rangers have won five of their seven all-time matchups with the Wild at Madison Square Garden; Minnesota has scored seven total goals in its two such wins and just six goals in its five combined losses. The Rangers are coming off a 3-1 loss Saturday in Montreal, while the Wild are riding a two-game winning streak following victories Thursday against Arizona and Saturday against Tampa Bay.
