CANADIENS, BRUINS WIN ORIGINAL SIX MATCH-UPS
The Canadiens (7-1-0) skated to a 3-1 win over the Rangers to continue their best start by wins since 1961-62 (7-0-1) and the Bruins won for the seventh time in their past nine visits to Toronto (7-1-1).

* Max Pacioretty posted 1-1--2 and Lars Eller’s first goal of the season stood as the game-winner as Montreal defeated the Rangers in their first meeting since the 2014 Eastern Conference Final. The Canadiens improved to 12-1-1 in their past 14 regular-season home games vs. the Rangers, dating to a 6-5 shootout win on Feb. 19, 2008. In that game, Montreal trailed 5-0 in the second period before scoring five unanswered goals – including two each from Michael Ryder and Alexei Kovalev – before Saku Koivu notched the lone shootout tally to cap the largest comeback in franchise history.

* Tuukka Rask stopped 32 shots and Dougie Hamilton (1-2--3) matched a career high with three points (also 1-2--3 on Mar. 2, 2014) to lift Boston. Rask improved to 10-2-0 with a 1.59 goals-against average and .945 save percentage in his career versus Toronto. David Krejci extended his point streak to six games (3-5--8) while Patrice Bergeron added two assists to eclipse 500 NHL points (184-317--501).

NIELSEN HAT TRICK LIFTS ISLES
Frans Nielsen netted three goals in the third period to help the Islanders outlast the Stars 7-5. Chad Johnson stopped 26 shots to move to 3-0-0 in an Islanders uniform.

* Nielsen's hat trick, the first of his NHL career, was the 10th League-wide in the early days of the 2014-15 regular season. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Nielsen is the first Islanders player to post a hat trick in the third period since Feb. 16, 1988, when Greg Gilbert did so against Calgary.

* Kyle Okposo (0-1--1) and Brock Nelson (1-1--2) each moved to within one point of John Tavares (11 points) for the team scoring lead.

* Nikolay Kulemin scored and added an assist to reach 200 career NHL points (85-115--200).

Did You Know: The Stars' lone hat trick conceded last season also occurred against the Islanders, on Jan. 6, 2014 when Tavares matched a career high with five points (3-2--5) in a 7-3 New York victory.

WILD OFFENSE EXPLODES IN WIN OVER LIGHTNING
The Wild scored four goals on eight shots to open a 4-1 lead after 20 minutes en route to a 7-2 win over the Lightning. Minnesota’s four-goal outburst matched a franchise record for one period while their 31.8% shooting percentage for the game (7 goals on 22 shots) ranks fourth in team history.

* Jason Zucker (2-0--2), who netted his first career two-goal game, was the only Wild player with multiple goals. It marked the first time since Oct. 7, 2006 that the team featured six different goal scorers in a game (6-5 win vs. NSH).

* Zucker, Marco Scandella (1-1--2), Zach Parise (1-1--2), Thomas Vanek (0-2--2) and Jason Pominville (0-2--2) all had multi-point games as 13 of 18 Wild skaters reached the scoresheet.

* Darcy Kuemper stopped 17 shots to improve to 14-3-2 with a 1.63 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage in his career at Xcel Energy Center (including playoffs).

CROSBY, FLEURY POWER PENS IN MUSIC CITY
Marc-Andre Fleury stopped all 25 shots he faced and Sidney Crosby figured in each of his team's goals, including the eventual winning tally in the first period, to lift Pittsburgh to a 3-0 win in Nashville. The Predators suffered their first regulation defeat of the season (5-1-2).

* Patric Hornqvist, who earned an assist on Crosby's game-winner, and Nick Spaling returned to Nashville for the first time since an offseason trade sent them to Pittsburgh in exchange for James Neal.

* Evgeni Malkin netted his third power-play goal of the season to extend his point streak to seven games (3-7--10). Pascal Dupuis also potted a power-play marker for his 400th NHL point (185-215--400).

* Fleury posted his first shutout of the season and 29th of his career while also adding an assist. He has won each of his last five games against the Predators.

JAGR, SEVERSON GIVE DEVILS A VICTORY FOR THE 'AGES'
Twenty-year-old rookie Damon Severson continued the sizzling start to his NHL career with a goal and an assist and 42-year-old Jaromir Jagr scored his NHL-record 19th regular-season overtime goal to lift the Devils past the Senators.

* Jagr tallied the 707th goal of his NHL career, one shy of Mike Gartner for sixth place on the all-time list.

* Severson recorded multiple points for the third time in just eight NHL starts. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, that is the fastest in franchise history a defenseman has reached three multi-point games -- Tapio Levo set the previous mark in 1981-82 (11 GP).

BLUES EDGE BLACKHAWKS IN PLAYOFF REMATCH
The Blues scored two goals in the final two minutes of the second period, including Dmitrij Jaskin’s eventual game-winner with five seconds left in the frame, en route to a 3-2 win over Chicago in the clubs' first meeting since the opening round of the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

* Brian Elliott stopped 22 shots to improve to 33-9-4 at Scottrade Center since joining the Blues in 2011-12.

RAFFL LIFTS FLYERS PAST WINGS
The Flyers broke a 1-1 deadlock by scoring three times in the third period, including a pair of goals by Michael Raffl, in their 4-2 win over Detroit. Raffl (2-1--3) recorded his first career multi-goal game and matched a career high with three points (0-3--3 on Dec. 15, 2013 vs. WSH).

* Ray Emery stopped 35 shots, improving to 3-0-1 on the season.

* Playing in his 200th NHL game, Brayden Schenn notched the winning tally on the power play -- the first goal allowed with Detroit shorthanded this season. The Red Wings had successfully killed each of their first 25 shorthanded situations in 2014-15.

* Jakub Voracek (0-2--2) took over the Flyers' scoring lead (2-9--11); he has a point in all but one game this season.

* The Flyers have won nine consecutive home games against the Red Wings since dropping a 4-2 decision in Game 2 of the 1997 Stanley Cup Final.
