ANDERSEN, DUCKS PICK UP FIFTH STRAIGHT VICTORY
Frederik Andersen made 28 saves to record his first career shutout and backstop the Ducks to their fifth consecutive victory.

* With the win, Andersen improved to 25-5-0 with a 2.14 goals-against average and .927 save percentage in 33 career regular-season appearances. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, he is just the second goaltender in NHL history to win 25 (or more) of his first 30 decisions. The other: Ross Brooks, who went 25-2-3 in his first 30 decisions with the Bruins from Oct. 25, 1972 – Feb. 28, 1974.

* Andersen also improved to 5-0-0 with a 1.38 goals-against average and .950 save percentage in five appearances this season. His five-game winning streak is one shy of his career long, set Oct. 20 – Nov. 10, 2013 (6-0-0).

* Sami Vatanen (2-0—2) recorded his first career multi-goal game, with both scores coming on the power play. He is just the sixth defenseman in Ducks history to score two power-play goals in one game and the first to accomplish that feat since March 4, 2011, when Lubomir Visnovsky posted 3-1—4, including two power-play markers, in a 4-3 OT victory vs. DAL.

* Ryan Getzlaf collected two assists for his third multi-point game of the season. He now has found the scoresheet in five of the team’s six games (2-6—8), tying for second in the League in assists and third in points.

* At 5-0-1 (10 points), the Ducks have equaled their best start to a season – through six games – in terms of wins (also 5-1-0 in 2013-14) and points (also 10 in both 2006-07 and 2013-14).

QUICK AGAIN STOPS 40 TO POWER KINGS
Jonathan Quick made 40 saves and both Tyler Toffoli and Tanner Pearson found the back of the net to lead the Kings to their fourth consecutive victory.

* Quick picked up his third straight win, improving to 3-1-1 with a 1.86 goals-against average, .951 save percentage and one shutout in five appearances this season. He also recorded 40 stops for the second consecutive game, following a 43-save shutout Thursday vs. STL.

* Toffoli (1-1—2) posted his third multi-point game of the season. He is tied for the team lead with 3-4—7 in six outings.

* Pearson scored his fifth goal of the season, tied for second in the NHL (5-2—7 in 6 GP). He had three goals and seven points in 25 regular-season appearances in 2013-14.

* The line of Toffoli (3-4—7, +9), Pearson (5-2—7, +7) and Jeff Carter (3-3—6, +9) has combined for 11-9—20 and a +25 rating over the team’s last five games.

* The Kings now have registered at least one point in 12 of their last 15 meetings with the Wild dating to 2010-11 (7-3-5).

LUNDQVIST, RANGERS BLANK SHARKS
Henrik Lundqvist made 33 saves to record his 51st career shutout and backstop the Rangers to their second consecutive victory.

* After compiling a 5.42 goals-against average and .816 save percentage in his first three outings of the season (1-2-0), Lundqvist now has a 0.48 goals-against average and .984 save percentage over his last two starts (2-0-0).

* Lundqvist’s 51 career shutouts rank third among active goaltenders, behind only Roberto Luongo (67) and Evgeni Nabokov (59). He also now is tied for 22nd all-time (with Curtis Joseph, Dave Kerr, Rogie Vachon and Tomas Vokoun).

* Leading 1-0 in the final minute of the second period, Martin St. Louis and Rick Nash scored four seconds apart to tie a franchise record for the fastest two goals in Rangers history. The initial mark was set by Kris King and James Patrick Oct. 9, 1991 vs. NYI (5-3 W).

* The NHL record for fastest two goals by one team is three seconds, set by Frank Jerwa and Joe Lamb of the St. Louis Eagles in a 3-2 victory March 21, 1935 vs. DET and matched by Jim Dowd and Richard Park of the Wild in a 4-2 win Jan. 21, 2004 vs. CHI.

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, St. Louis and Nash also combined for the fastest two non-empty-net goals by any NHL team since Dec. 15, 1995, when Jets forward Deron Quint scored twice in four seconds in a 9-4 victory vs. EDM.

* Nash registered his League-leading seventh goal of the season (7-1—8 in 6 GP). Elias says he is the first player in Rangers history to find the back of the net in five of the team’s first six games of a season. He also is one of only two Blueshirts who has recorded at least seven goals in the club’s first six contests (Don Murdoch: 8 in 1976-77).

* The Rangers posted their 66th consecutive victory when scoring at least four goals (dating to Oct. 31, 2011 vs. SJS). They also have earned at least one point in 88 straight games when registering at least four goals (87-0-1 dating to Nov. 14, 2010 vs. EDM).

RAYMOND HELPS FLAMES CLOSE TRIP ON HIGH NOTE
Mason Raymond (1-2—3) posted his second three-point game of the season to help the Flames close their six-game road trip with a 4-2-0 record.

* Raymond also recorded three points Oct. 9 at EDM, when he scored his third career hat trick. His two three-point performances in seven games match his total from the past three seasons combined (183 GP).

* Johnny Gaudreau (1-1—2) and Dennis Wideman (1-1—2) also registered multi-point games for the Flames. For Gaudreau, it marked the first multi-point performance of his NHL career (7 GP).

* TJ Brodie scored his third goal of the season to extend his point streak to six games (3-4—7), the longest active run in the NHL. Prior to this stretch, Brodie’s longest career point streak was four games, set Jan. 20-28 (1-3—4).

* Jonas Hiller made 34 saves and now has stopped 83-of-85 shots (.976 SV%) over his past two starts (both wins).

LOOSE PUCKS
The Sharks suffered their first regulation loss of the season (4-1-1) . . . Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom made 14 saves in his first appearance since Jan. 30 . . . Rangers forward Kevin Hayes scored his first NHL goal (4 GP) . . . Blues defenseman Petteri Lindbohm made his NHL debut . . . ICYMI: Evgeni Malkin and the Penguins celebrated Halloween early . . . LIGHTNING CONTINUE WESTERN SWING IN EDMONTON
Coming off a 4-2 victory Saturday in Vancouver, the Lightning continue their five-game Western Conference road trip when they visit the Oilers at Rexall Place. Tampa Bay has lost three straight trips to Edmonton, with their last victory coming March 7, 2007 (3-1). The Lightning, however, have earned points in three of their past four meetings with the Oilers (2-1-1), including a split of their season series in 2013-14. Edmonton is playing the second contest of a seven-game homestand; the Oilers fell 2-0 to the Canucks Friday in the first game of the stretch.

NOTE: Lightning captain Steven Stamkos will be making his first appearance in Edmonton since Dec. 10, 2010, when he posted 1-0—1 and five shots on goal in a 4-3 shootout loss. Stamkos has 4-0—4 in five career games against the Oilers.
