WESTERN CONFERENCE FINAL SHIFTS TO L.A. FOR GAME 3
The Los Angeles Kings return home to face the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 3 of the Western Conference Final on Saturday night. The Kings are 3-3 at Staples Center this postseason, and have won 17 of their last 24 home playoff games overall dating back to 2012. The Blackhawks have come away with victories in their past two visits to Staples Center (regular-season and playoffs) and have a 2-4 record on the road in the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs. In Game 2, Los Angeles evened the series with a 6-2 win by scoring six unanswered goals, including five in the third period, to even the Western Conference Final at 1-1.
* Andrew Shaw is expected to return to Chicago’s lineup for Game 3. He has not played since Game 1 of the Western Conference Second Round series against the Minnesota Wild and has four points (2-2—4) in seven games this postseason. Shaw was one of five Blackhawks to score at least 20 goals in the regular-season (20-19—39), reaching the 20-goal mark for the first time in his NHL career.
* Jeff Carter registered four points (3-1—4) in the third period of Game 2, matching a Stanley Cup Playoffs record and establishing a Kings postseason record for points in one period. Carter (7-9—16) sits second overall in playoff scoring behind teammate Anze Kopitar (5-15—20) and has registered seven points (4-3—7) in his last three games.
