BROWN SCORES TWICE IN 1,200TH GAME AS KINGS WIN FIFTH STRAIGHT

Dustin Brown (2-0—2) scored twice in his 1,200th regular-season game and Jonathan Quick (31 saves) recorded his second shutout in three appearances as the Kings extended their win streak to five games dating to Feb. 11. Los Angeles has also earned a point in each of its last six games (5-0-1).

* Brown (10-6—16 in 17 GP), tied with Logan Couture (10-6—16 in 17 GP) for the most goals in the Honda West Division, required the fewest games in his career to reach the 10-goal mark in a single season. He topped his previous best of 23 games set in 2007-08, a campaign that featured a career-high 33 goals.

* Brown, who became the fifth active player to skate in 1,200 career regular-season games, became just the second player in NHL history to score at least one goal in each of his 1,000th, 1,100th and 1,200th milestone games, joining Joe Nieuwendyk (w/ DAL, NJD & FLA).



COYOTES SCORE FOUR STRAIGHT TO ERASE THREE-GOAL DEFICIT AND WIN
Christian Dvorak’s first career penalty-shot goal was the first of four unanswered Coyotes tallies as Arizona erased a 3-0 deficit to stun Anaheim and improve to 2-1-0 against its division rivals in 2020-21.

* The Coyotes overcame a deficit of three or more goals to win in regulation for the fourth time in team history. The others: Jan. 14, 2006 (4-3 at TOR), March. 8, 2003 (6-4 vs. SJS) and Dec. 19, 2001 (6-3 vs. CGY). Arizona became the fourth team to overcome a deficit of at least three goals to win in any fashion this season, joining Ottawa (Feb. 15 at TOR), Boston (Feb. 1 at WSH) and Washington (Jan. 28 vs. NYI).

* Dvorak (2-0—2), who recorded his 10th career multi-goal game and third of 2020-21, became just the third player in Coyotes/Jets franchise history to score a shorthanded penalty-shot goal. He joined Lauri Korpikoski (Nov. 21, 2011) and Ladislav Nagy (Oct. 8, 2005).

GOLDEN KNIGHTS BLANK AVALANCHE TO SPLIT FOUR-GAME SET
Alex Tuch (2-0—2) scored twice and Marc-Andre Fleury turned aside all 34 shots he faced, including a highlight-reel save on Nazem Kadri in the first period, to help the Golden Knights split their four-game set with the Avalanche (COL: 2-2-0).



* Fleury posted his third shutout of 2020-21 and moved into a tie with Islanders’ netminder Semyon Varlamov and Ducks’ goaltender John Gibson for the most this season. It also marked the 64th such performance of his career, moving the 17-season veteran into a tie with Henrik Lundqvist for 16th place on the NHL’s all-time list.

* Tuch netted his 13th career game-winning goal (all w/ VGK) after also finding the back of the net in Day 1 of the NHL Outdoors at Lake Tahoe. Only one Golden Knights player has more with the franchise: Jonathan Marchessault (16).

PANTHERS, LIGHTNING CLAIM WINS IN TIGHTLY-CONTESTED CENTRAL

The top three teams in the Discover Central Division were all on the ice Monday as Florida (12-3-2, 26 points) overtook the No. 1 spot with their victory paired with Carolina’s (12-4-1, 25 points) regulation loss against Tampa Bay (11-4-1, 23 points).

* The Panthers fell behind early but scored on three of their 52 shots on goal to rebound from a loss Saturday in Detroit. Defensemen Aaron Ekblad and Keith Yandle each scored for Florida as it remained one of three teams without consecutive losses in 2020-21 (also CAR and COL).

* Victor Hedman (1-1—2) and Steven Stamkos (1-1—2) assisted on each other’s goals to guide the Lightning past the Hurricanes. It was the 44th regular-season game in which they each had multiple points, trailing only four current forward-defenseman duos for the most such performances.

TKACHUK SCORES 100TH CAREER GOAL AS FLAMES SHUT OUT MAPLE LEAFS
Matthew Tkachuk (1-1—2) scored his 100th career goal and David Rittichturned aside all 34 shots he faced as the Flames shut out the NHL’s leading goal scorer Auston Matthews (18-11—29) and the Maple Leafs – the NHL’s highest-scoring team in 2020-21 (tied w/ 72 GF).

* Tkachuk (23 years, 73 days) became the fifth-youngest player in Flames franchise history at the time of his 100th career goal. His father, Keith, reached the mark at 23 years, 213 days on Oct. 27, 1995 with the original Winnipeg Jets.

WILD SCORE SIX EN ROUTE TO THIRD STRAIGHT WIN

Mats Zuccarello (1-3—4), Victor Rask (1-2—3) and Kirill Kaprizov (1-1—2) each recorded multi-point games as the Wild scored a season-high six goals en route to their third straight win. The trio have combined for 14 points over their last two games (5-9—14).

* Zuccarello, who made his season debut on Feb. 16 and has earned a point in three straight contests (2-5—7), posted his second career four-point game (also Oct. 7, 2017 w/ NYR) and became the first Wild player with a four-point performance since Matt Dumba on March 29, 2018 (1-3—4 vs. DAL).

BACKSTROM EYES 700TH ASSIST IN FIFTH MEETING WITH PENGUINS IN 2020-21
A national telecast on NBCSN will feature the fifth meeting of 2020-21 between Capitals’ captain Alex Ovechkin and Penguins’ captain Sidney Crosby. Crosby (2-3—5) has outscored Ovechkin (1-3—4) in the four prior meetings this season, helping Pittsburgh to a 3-1-0 record in those contests (WSH: 1-1-2).

* Crosby and Ovechkin have met 56 times in the regular season with Crosby (28-51—79 in 56 GP) holding the edge in scoring (Ovechkin: 31-24—55 in 56 GP) and in wins (PIT: 34-20-2; WSH: 22-25-9).

* After Crosby (1,000 GP) and Ovechkin (7th on all-time goals list) recently reached career milestones, another longtime member of the Penguins-Capitals rivalry eyes one of his own as Nicklas Backstrom sits two assists from 700 in his regular-season career. Already the Capitals’ all-time leader in the category, Backstrom can become the third active skater to reach the benchmark behind Joe Thornton (1,095) and Crosby (810).
