QUICK, KINGS TAKE 2-0 SERIES LEAD OVER DUCKS
Jonathan Quick made 36 saves, including 15 in the third period, to backstop the Kings to a 2-0 series lead over the Ducks.

* After falling behind 3-0 to the Sharks in the First Round, the Kings now have won six consecutive games, including four straight on the road. They have outscored opponents 24-8 during the streak, which is two short of the franchise record set in 2012 en route to the team capturing its first Stanley Cup.

* After yielding 16 goals in his first three appearances of the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Quick has posted a 1.29 goals-against average, .961 save percentage and one shutout during the team’s six-game winning streak. He has made 30 or more saves in five of those six games, stopping 199-of-207 total shots against (8 GA).

* After scoring the tying and winning goals in Game 1, Marian Gaborik put the Kings ahead 1-0 just 34 seconds after the opening face-off. Gaborik now leads the NHL with six goals during the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs and has found the scoresheet in six of his last seven games, totaling 6-3—9 in that span.

* Anze Kopitar picked up the primary assist on Gaborik’s goal to extend his point streak to nine games (4-10—14). According to the Elias Sports Bureau, only one other player over the past 15 years has registered at least one point in each of his team’s first nine games of the postseason: Red Wings forward Johan Franzen, who found the scoresheet in all 12 of the club’s games during the 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs (6-12—18).

* Kopitar now leads all players with 10 assists and 14 points in the postseason. He also has a 12-game point streak dating to the regular season (8-11—19).

* Alec Martinez scored for the second consecutive game, marking the second time he has done so in his NHL career (regular season and playoffs). He also posted his second career game-winning goal in the postseason (42 GP), equaling his total from 203 career regular-season contests.

* The Kings recorded their 100th playoff victory in franchise history (100-129).

CROSBY ENDS DROUGHT; FLEURY, PENGUINS AGAIN BLANK RANGERS
Sidney Crosby snapped a 13-game scoring drought (dating to the regular season) and Marc-Andre Fleury (35 saves) recorded his second consecutive shutout to lift the Penguins to a 2-1 series lead over the Rangers.

* Crosby also ended a 13-game postseason goal drought dating to 2013. He picked up his sixth career game-winning goal in the playoffs and first since April 18, 2010 (at OTT).

* Fleury became the first goaltender in Penguins history to record shutouts in consecutive postseason games, following a 22-save performance on Sunday. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, he also became only the sixth netminder in the last 30 years to register playoff shutouts on consecutive days. The others: Mike Richter (1994), Martin Brodeur (1995), Curtis Joseph (2001), Brent Johnson (2002) and Henrik Lundqvist (2013).

* Fleury now has a franchise-record eight career postseason shutouts, two more than Tom Barrasso. He improved to 6-3 with a 2.22 goals-against average and .925 save percentage in the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs; all three of his losses have come in overtime.

* Jussi Jokinen scored for the second consecutive night to extend his point streak to seven games (4-3—7). He now has found the scoresheet in eight of the Penguins’ nine games this postseason, totaling 5-3—8.

* After surrendering seven power-play goals in the First Round against the Blue Jackets (20-for-27, 74.1%), the Penguins improved to a perfect 13-for-13 on the penalty kill versus the Rangers, including five successful kills on Monday.
