THREE HARD LAPS

* Jack Eichel scored twice, including the game-tying goal, to extend his point streak to 15 games and tie Patrick Kane for the League’s longest such run of the season.

* The Wild withstood Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid’s 20th goals of the season to extend their point streak at Xcel Energy Center to 11 contests and outlast the Oilers in an 11-goal affair.

* Artemi Panarin scored twice in a span of 47 seconds to become the 17th player in NHL history to score each of his first three career hat tricks with three different teams.

ANOTHER GAME, ANOTHER POINT FOR JACK EICHEL
In a contest that featured three game-tying goals through 40 minutes, Jack Eichel scored twice to extend his point steak to 15 games (14-13—27 in 15 GP) and match Chicago’s Patrick Kane (15 GP from Nov. 2-30) for the NHL’s longest point streak of the season.

* The North Chelmsford, Mass. native became the 11th different U.S.-born player in NHL history, and fourth different in the last decade, to register a point streak of 15 or more consecutive contests.

* Additionally, only one other campaign in NHL history has featured two U.S.-born players with point streaks of 15 games or more: 2015-16, when Kane (Buffalo, N.Y.) and Philadelphia’s Shayne Gostisbehere (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) posted 26- and 15-game stretches, respectively.

* The 2019-20 campaign marks the third straight season in which multiple players posted a point streak of at least 15 straight games (Kane: 20 GP and Mike Hoffman: 17 GP in 2018-19; Taylor Hall: 19 GP and Patrik Laine: 15 GP in 2017-18).

* Eichel (22-24—46), who surpassed Alex Ovechkin (21-12—33) for the second most goals in 2019-20, has tallied 14 times over the course of his current run. Only five players since 1999-00 have scored more goals through their first 15 games of any point streak: Laine (18 in 2017-18 w/ WPG), Jarome Iginla (18 in 2001-02 w/ CGY), Sidney Crosby (17 in 2010-11 w/ PIT), Dany Heatley (15 in 2005-06 w/ OTT) and Patrik Elias (15 in 1999-00 w/ NJD).

WILD WITHSTAND McDAVID, DRAISAITL IN 11-GOAL AFFAIR
After Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid’s 20th goals helped Edmonton tie the game twice, the Wild scored two of five total third-period tallies to outlast the Oilers in an 11-goal affair.

* Edmonton - which overcame a multi-goal deficit to tie the game for the third time in as many contests - features at least two 20-goal scorers prior to its 35th game of a season for the first time since 1988-89, when Jimmy Carson, Jari Kurri and Esa Tikkanen all reached the mark by the club’s 32nd game.

* McDavid (20-37—57) and Draisaitl (20-35—55) became the sixth set of teammates in the last 20 years to each score at least 20 goals prior to their team’s 35th game.

* Thursday’s contest marked the 20th of the season to feature two teams combine for at least 11 goals in a game and second in the month of December (also VAN vs. BUF on Dec. 7).

* The Wild scored six goals in a game for the second time this season (also Nov. 29 vs. OTT) to extend their home point streak to 11 outings dating to Oct. 20 (8-0-3). The 2019-20 campaign marks the second time in franchise history Minnesota has collected a point in at least 11 consecutive home contests. The other: 13 GP (10-0-3 from Dec. 27, 2017 - Feb. 13, 2018).

PANARIN NETS THIRD CAREER HAT TRICK WITH THIRD DIFFERENT CLUB
Artemi Panarin
(3-1—4) scored two third-period goals in a 47-second span to complete his third career hat trick and become the eighth player to reach the 40-point mark in 2019-20 (18-23—41).

* Coincidentally, Panarin’s previous two hat tricks came against the Rangers, doing so on Feb. 17, 2016 and March 30, 2018 with the Blackhawks and Blue Jackets, respectively. The 28-year-old forward became the 17th player in NHL history to score each of his first three career hat tricks with three different teams.

* Russ Courtnall (TOR, MTL, MNS and VAN) and Eddie Shack (TOR, BOS, LAK and BUF) are the only players in NHL history to score each of their first four NHL hat tricks with four different teams.

* Among players in their first season with the Rangers, Panarin is one of four to reach the 40-point mark in 31 games or fewer. The others: Marian Gaborik (29 GP in 2009-10), Mark Messier (30 GP in 1991-92) and Wayne Gretzky (31 GP in 1996-97).

YOUTH SHINES IN PITTSBURGH, DETROIT AND VANCOUVER
Twenty-four-year-old Tristan Jarry (17 saves) posted his third shutout in four appearances, 20-year-old Filip Zadina (1-2—3) collected his first career three-point game and 21-year-old Elias Pettersson recorded his 100th NHL point with an overtime goal:

* After also securing shutouts on Dec. 4 (28 saves vs. STL) and Dec. 6 (33 saves vs. ARI), Jarry became the second goaltender in Penguins history to register three shutouts in four appearances. The other: Marc-Andre Fleury (3 in 4 GP from Oct. 25 - Nov. 1, 2014).

* Zadina (20 years, 15 days) became the third-youngest Red Wings player in the NHL’s expansion era (1967-68) at the time of his first career three-point game, behind only Steve Yzerman (18 years, 226 days on Dec. 21, 1983) and Lane Lambert (19 years, 75 days on Feb. 1, 1984).

* Pettersson recorded his 100th career point in his 102nd NHL game (41-59—100). Among players to debut with the Canucks, only one required fewer games to reach the century mark: Pavel Bure (59-41—100 in 96 GP).

KUEMPER CONTINUES TO STIFLE THE OPPOSITION
Darcy Kuemper
made 28 saves and Clayton Keller (2-0—2) fired a team-high 12 of 40 shots on net as the Pacific Division-leading Coyotes improved to 19-11-4 (42 points) this season.

* Kuemper (14-6-2, 1.97 GAA, .935 SV%), between the pipes for 14 of 19 Coyotes wins this season, has allowed two or fewer goals in four of his last five appearances. The League’s leader in goals-against average (min. 15 GP) can become the third goaltender in Coyotes/Jets history to hold a goals against average of 1.99 or lower before Christmas (min. 20 GP). The others: Sean Burke (1.84 GAA in 2000-01) and Nikolai Khabibulin (1.85 GAA in 1998-99).

AROUND THE RINKS

* Three days after the Islanders established a franchise record for fewest games to 20 wins, New York solidified another victory to improve to 21-7-2 (44 points) and increase its point percentage to .733 - the second highest mark through this point of a season in franchise history (.750 in 1978-79).

* Oskar Sundqvist (1-1—2) scored one of three unanswered Blues goals as St. Louis rallied to halt a three-game slide. The Blues collected their 11th comeback win of 2019-20 and trail only the Flames (12) for the most this season.

* Johnny Gaudreau scored twice and Sean Monahan assisted on two goals as the Flames overcame an early third-period deficit to extend the NHL’s longest active win and point streaks to seven and nine games (8-0-1), respectively.
