THREE HARD LAPS

* Oilers captain Connor McDavid netted his fifth career hat trick and 45th career three-point performance en route to recording his 400th NHL point (139-263—402).

* The Panthers and Blackhawks outlasted the Rangers and Maple Leafs to survive 11 and nine-goal affairs, respectively.

* Flyers rookie defenseman Philippe Myers scored for the third straight game to join select company and help Philadelphia capture its fourth straight win.

McDAVID REACHES 400-POINT MILESTONE WITH HAT TRICK PERFORMANCE
With his mom in attendance as part of the Oilers first ‘Mother’s Trip’, Connor McDavid (3-0—3) registered his fifth hat trick and 45th three-point game to record his 400th NHL point (139-263—402).

* The Oilers captain became the 13th player in NHL history to require 306 or fewer games to reach the 400-career point milestone and joined Penguins captain Sidney Crosby as just the second active player to accomplish the feat in that span.

* McDavid (22 years, 301 days), who became the eighth player in League history to record his 400th career point before his 23rd birthday, is the only active player – and 17th in NHL history – to register 45 three-point performances en route to reaching the 400-point benchmark.

* McDavid (11-19—30) and Draisaitl (14-20—34) each reached the 30-point mark through Edmonton’s 19th game of 2019-20 - marking the fifth instance in the last 25 years that teammates each accomplished the feat prior to their team’s 20th game.

* Draisaitl factored on all three of McDavid’s goals to match a career-high with four assists (also Dec. 11, 2015 vs. NYR) and extend his point streak to nine contests dating to Oct. 24 (8-10—18). After previously posting a season-opening point streak of eight games, he is one of four players since 1989-90 to post multiple eight-game point streaks prior to his team’s 20th game. The others: Steven Stamkos (2012-13 w/ TBL), Rod Brind’Amour (1993-94 w/ PHI) and Brian Bradley (1992-93 w/ TBL).

PANTHERS OUTLAST RANGERS IN 11-GOAL AFFAIR . . .
After the Rangers and Panthers traded 10 goals in regulation and odd-man rushes in overtime, Vincent Trocheck netted the shootout winner to help Florida outlast New York in a back-and-forth affair.

* Sunday’s contest, which featured four second-period tallies in a span of 3:48, marked the ninth instance since 2000-01 where two teams combined for four game-tying goals through the first 30 minutes of a regular-season contest — with the Rangers also involved in the last occurrence (Feb. 18, 2018 vs. PHI).

* The Panthers and Rangers contested the third game of 2019-20 that featured five game-tying goals overall, joining the Kings and Oilers (Oct. 5) as well as the Lightning and Devils (Oct. 30).

* Meanwhile, Florida scored three game-tying goals in a contest for the second time this season after initially doing so on Oct. 24 at Calgary. They are one of three teams to accomplish the feat on multiple occasions in 2019-20. The others: Edmonton (Oct. 5 and Oct. 10) and San Jose (Oct. 10 and Oct. 19).

* Captain Aleksander Barkov (1-1—2), one of five players to register a multi-point outing, netted the Panthers’ opening goal to extend his goal streak to five contests. On the heels of a 12-game goalless stretch to begin 2019-20, Barkov has found the back of the net in each of his last five games.

. . . WHILE BLACKHAWKS OUTDUEL MAPLE LEAFS IN NINE-GOAL CONTEST
Patrick Kane (2-1—3) and Alex DeBrincat (0-3—3) each collected three points, while Robin Lehner matched a career high with 53 saves to help the Blackhawks withstand a Maple Leafs third-period rally.

* The Blackhawks are the second team in as many nights to benefit from two quick goals en route to victory after the Senators scored twice in four seconds before defeating the Hurricanes Saturday. Kirby Dach and Kane scored within 10 seconds of each other in the first period to record the fifth instance of the Blackhawks doing so in a span of 10 seconds or less (since 1989-90).

* Lehner, who recorded 23 third-period saves, became the fourth different Blackhawks goaltender to register at least 53 saves in a game since 1955-56 (when saves began officially being tracked). He joined Winnipeg’s Connor Hellebuyck (Nov. 1 at SJS) and Edmonton’s Mike Smith (Nov. 2 at PIT) as the third netminder to post a 50-save performance in the last 10 days.

ROOKIE MYERS SCORES AGAIN AS FLYERS BEST BRUINS AT TD GARDEN
Travis Konecny (1-1—2) and Philippe Myers (1-0—1) each scored in regulation and Joel Farabee scored the lone goal in the shootout goal as the Flyers defeated the Bruins to win their fourth straight game.

* Twenty-two-year-old Konecny and 23-year-old Oskar Lindblom lead the Flyers with eight goals each. The last time two players 23 years or younger led the team in goals through 10 or more games was in 2007-08, when Mike Richards and Jeff Carter each scored six goals in 10 games.

* Myers (22 years old, 290 days) scored his third goal in as many games to become the seventh different defenseman in Flyers history to post a three-game goal streak and the NHL‘s 10th rookie defenseman to do so in the last 30 years.
