HEDMAN HELPS LIGHTNING TO VICTORY IN HOME COUNTRY
Playing an NHL game in his home country for the first time, defenseman Victor Hedman (Ornskoldsvik, Sweden) notched an assist in the first period to help guide the Lightning to victory in the 2019 NHL Global Series at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden.

* Markus Naslund, who ranks third all-time in goals by a Swedish-born player (395), dropped the ceremonial puck with fellow countrymen Hedman and Marcus Johansson of the Sabres.

* Hedman has recorded a point in 10 of his 12 games this season (2-8—10) - playing only 6:37 in one of the two contests he was held off the score sheet (Oct. 29 at NYR; also Oct. 12 at OTT). He led all skaters with 25:47 TOI in his return from a two-game absence, his second-highest total this season (Oct. 17 at BOS: 27:10).

* Nikita Kucherov opened the scoring with his fifth goal of the season (5-7—12 in 14 GP). It was his 11th career goal against the Sabres (23 GP), tied for his third-highest total against one team in the regular season (DET: 16 G in 23 GP; FLA: 13 G in 24 GP; WSH: 11 G in 17 GP).

* Tampa Bay (1-2-0) earned its first win in a regular-season game played outside North America, while Buffalo (2-1-0) had its first such loss. The teams meet again today at 1 p.m. ET at Ericsson Globe in the third and final contest of the 2019 NHL Global Series.

FABBRI SCORES TWO GOALS IN RED WINGS DEBUT
Robby Fabbri, who was acquired by the Red Wings on Wednesday, scored two goals in his team debut. He became the seventh player in franchise history to score twice in his team debut and just the second over the last 34 years.

* Fabbri recorded the fourth multi-goal game of his NHL career and first since a hat trick on Dec. 28, 2016 with St. Louis (3-0—3 vs. PHI). Fabbri is no stranger to finding the score sheet multiple times; he made history three years ago when he became the youngest player to record three or more points in a Game 7 at 20 years and 110 days old (1-2—3 at DAL), eclipsing the previous mark set by Calgary’s Paul Reinhart (21 years, 108 days) in 1981 (0-3—3 at PHI).

* Tyler Bertuzzi assisted on each goal by Fabbri. The two were reunited after skating together for three seasons with the OHL’s Guelph Storm from 2012-13 to 2014-15, including capturing the J. Ross Robertson Cup as league champions in 2013-14. Fabbri also won the Wayne Gretzky 99 Award as MVP of the OHL Playoffs that year (13-25—28 in 16 GP).

DRAISAITL SCORES 14TH GOAL OF THE SEASON, REACHES 30-POINT MARK
Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl scored his 14th goal of the season to become the second player to reach the 30-point mark in 2019-20 (14-16—30 in 18 GP). Draisaitl became the fifth different player in franchise history to score as many goals through the team’s first 18 games in a season and first in 20 years.



* Draisaitl also became the first Edmonton player to reach the 30-point mark in 18 or fewer games since Wayne Gretzky in 1987-88 (10-23—33 in 13 GP). Gretzky entered his 13th contest with 28 points that season and collected 3-2—5 against the Rangers to eclipse 30.

LINDHOLM LOOKS TO EXTEND POINT STREAK TO 10 GAMES
Elias Lindholm looks to extend his point streak to 10 games (5-6—11 in 9 GP) when the Flames (10-7-2, 22 points) host the Western Conference-leading Blues (11-3-3, 25 points) at Scotiabank Saddledome. Lindholm has recorded a 10-game point streak twice in his NHL career, doing so from March 9-25, 2017 with Carolina (4-7—11) and Jan. 7 – Feb. 3, 2019 with Calgary (3-9—12).

* Lindholm, who was acquired by the Flames on June 23, 2018, can become the second player to record at least one double-digit point streak in each of his first two seasons with the franchise (NHL debut or otherwise). He would join Doug Gilmour, who accomplished the feat in 1988-89 and 1989-90 (2x).
