TARASENKO, BINNINGTON EXTEND STREAKS AS BLUES WIN EIGHTH STRAIGHT

Vladimir Tarasenko scored twice and Jordan Binnington made 21 saves as the Blues blanked the Coyotes to extend their win streak to eight games, the longest active run in the NHL. St. Louis improved to 29-22-5 (63 points) and moved past Dallas (29-23-5, 63 points) for third place in the Central Division standings.

* Tarasenko has collected at least one point in a career-high 10 consecutive contests (9-8—17) and became the third Blues player to record a point streak of at least 10 games this season, joining Ryan O’Reilly from Oct. 17 – Nov. 11, 2018 (8-9—17 in 10 GP) and David Perron from Dec. 22, 2018 – Jan. 17, 2019 (6-10—16 in 13 GP). The 2018-19 campaign marked the fourth season in franchise history to feature three or more Bluesplayers each with a point streak of at least 10 games and first since 1991-92, when Adam Oates, Brett Hull and Craig Janney combined for the feat.

* Binnington improved to 11-1-1 since making the first start of his NHL career on Jan. 7 (1.53 GAA, .938 SV%, 3 SO), including wins in each of his last seven appearances. He matched the franchise record for longest win streak by a rookie goaltender, a mark set by Brent Johnson from Oct. 6 – Nov. 18, 2000 and again from Nov. 29, 2000 – Jan. 1, 2001.

LIGHTNING, KUCHEROV REACH 90-POINT MARK

Nikita Kucherov collected 1-3—4 for the second straight game to help the League-leading Lightning (43-11-4, 90 points) extend their point streak to eight contests (6-0-2) and become the first team to reach the 90-point mark this season. Tampa Bay became the eighth team in NHL history to reach the 90-point point within its first 58 games of a season.

* Kucherov became the first player to eclipse the 90-point mark this season (26-66—92 in 58 GP). He became the first player in franchise history to reach the 90-point mark in a season within his first 60 personal games and first on any team since Washington’s Alex Ovechkin in 2009-10 (42-48—90 in 56 GP).

* Kucherov recorded his League-leading sixth game with at least four points this season. He became the first player to register six or more outings with at least four points in a season through games played Feb. 14 since Atlanta’s Ilya Kovalchuk in 2005-06 (6x).
