EARLY BIRD GETS THE WORM

The Red Wings (Tyler Bertuzzi: 0:24), Lightning (Brayden Point: 0:26), Blues (Vladimir Tarasenko: 0:34) and Blue Jackets (Cam Atkinson: 1:00) all scored in the opening minute of regulation en route to a victory on Saturday night. In 2018-19, teams that score in the opening minute of regulation have a 37-13-6 record.

* Tampa Bay scored in the opening minute of regulation for the fourth time this season (4-0-0), tied with Washington (2-2-0), Montreal (2-2-0) and Carolina (2-0-1) for the most such occurrences in 2018-19. Two of Carolina’s opening-minute goals came in a 2-1 W vs. NJD on Nov. 18.

* Steven Stamkos (1-1–2) scored the go-ahead goal with 5:16 remaining in regulation to eclipse the 50-point mark (24-27–51 in 45 GP). The 2018-19 campaign marks the first season in Lightning history in which the club has featured three players with 50+ points through the team's first 45 games. The Avalanche and Flames are the only other clubs to accomplish the feat this season. Prior to 2018-19, the last time a team had three players register 50+ points in the first 45 GP of a season was the Senators trio of Daniel Alfredsson, Dany Heatley and Jason Spezza in 2007-08.

* Tyler Bertuzzi (3-0–3) recorded his first career hat trick, including goals in the opening minute of the first and third period. In fact, Detroit scored in the first minute of all three frames to mark the ninth time in NHL history a team has done so and first since the Penguins on Feb. 19, 2007 - a game that saw Ryan Malone score in the opening minute of all three periods.

* Artemi Panarin scored his fourth overtime goal of the season, and second in as many contests, to establish a Blue Jackets franchise record for the most overtime goals in a single season. It marked the 28th instance in NHL history, and first by a Blue Jackets skater, in which a player has scored an overtime goal in consecutive team games.

* Panarin became the 21st player in NHL history and second in 2018-19 (also Dylan Larkin) to score at least four overtime goals in a season. He sits one such tally shy of matching the single-season NHL record of five, held by four active players.

* David Perron (4-9—13 in 10 GP) joined Ryan O'Reilly (8-9—17 in 10 GP from Oct. 17 - Nov. 11, 2018) as the second Blues player to record a 10-game point streak this season. This marks the first Blues season to witness two players with 10-game point streaks since Keith Tkachuk (12 GP) and Doug Weight (10 GP) in 2002-03.

PASTRNAK ADDS TO CAREER TOTALS AGAINST TORONTO

David Pastrnak (1-0—1) collected the game-winning goal to help the Bruins (26-15-4, 56 points) complete their season series with the Maple Leafs with a 3-1-0 record (TOR: 1-3-0). Pastrnak has collected at least one point in every contest vs. Toronto this season (6-3—9 in 4 GP).

* Additionally, the Bruins’ leading scorer (26-27—53 in 45 GP) has recorded 16 goals in 22 career games (including playoffs) against the Maple Leafs (0.72 goals per game). The only other Bruins player with a higher goals per game average against Toronto is Cam Neely (1.05; 19 goals in 18 GP).

* Pastrnak’s game-winning tally marked the 120th goal of his NHL career and moved him into a tie with Barry Pederson for the most by a Bruinsplayer prior to his 23rd birthday.

In addition to Pastrnak, numerous players age 23 and under hit significant marks as part of the NHL’s 12-game slate on Saturday:

* Rasmus Dahlin (18 years, 274 days) collected at least one assist for the third consecutive game to boost his season totals to 4-20—24. The first-overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft became the seventh defenseman in NHL history to record 20 assists prior to his 19th birthday.

* Among players to debut with the Blackhawks, Alex DeBrincat (21 years, 25 days) became the seventh player in franchise history to score 50 NHL goals prior to their 130th game. Only six Blackhawks have reached the milestone younger than DeBrincat, a list paced by Eddie Olczyk (20 years, 60 days).

* Alex Tuch (22 years, 247 days) scored to extend his point streak to nine contests (3-8—11), the longest such stretch by a Golden Knights player.

* Conor Garland (22 years, 307 days) is the sixth different rookie in Coyotes/Jets franchise history to score in at least four consecutive games and first since Teemu Selanne posted the franchise's longest such run of nine games from March 14 - April 1, 1993.

* Mackenzie Blackwood (22 years, 34 days) denied 32 of 34 shots to backstop the Devils past the Flyers. Blackwood, who made his NHL debut on Dec. 18, improved to 4-2-0 and has allowed two or fewer goals in eight of his nine career appearances (1.85 GAA, .947 SV%, 2 SO).
