* Jarome Iginla netted two goals for the third time in his last five games and has 9-1—10 in his last eight contests. He tied the game early in the third period with his 557th career goal, moving past Bruins great Johnny Bucyk into 25th place on the League’s all-time goal-scoring list.

GOALTENDERS SET FRANCHISE RECORDS
* Jonathan Quick became the Kings’ all-time wins leader with career victory no. 172, passing Rogie Vachon. Quick stopped all 24 shots he faced in earning his fifth shutout of the season and 30th of his career, putting him two shy of Vachon’s franchise shutout record. Quick improved to 8-2-0 with a 1.39 goals-against average and .942 save percentage in his past 10 games.

* Four days after becoming the franchise wins leader, Henrik Lundqvist to set another Rangers record with career shutout no. 50, passing Ed Giacomin. Lundqvist turned aside all 21 New Jersey shots in improving his record against NHL career wins leader Martin Brodeur to 26-9-6 with a 1.74 goals against average and a .930 save percentage in 41 appearances.

MALKIN AND CROSBY POWER PENS
Evgeni Malkin (2-2—4) factored on all four Penguins goals and Sidney Crosby (1-2--3) had three points, including an assist on James Neal’s overtime winner, as Pittsburgh overcame a late tying goal and defeated the Lightning for the ninth consecutive time.

* Neal’s overtime goal was his third of the season, matching a franchise record and tying him for the League lead with Washington’s Alex Ovechkin.

* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Crosby and Malkin each recorded at least three points in the same game for the 16th time.

* Crosby (34-60—94) holds an 18-point lead in the race for the Art Ross Trophy as NHL scoring leader. He also tops all players in assists.

NYQUIST PUSHES RED WINGS INTO WILD CARD SPOT
Gustav Nyquist scored for the fourth straight game (5-1--6) to break a 2-2 tie at 5:19 of the third period as Detroit earned its third consecutive win to move into the final Eastern Conference Wild Card spot. Nyquist’s goal was his team-leading fifth game-winner of the season. He has tallied 16 goals in his past 22 games since Jan. 20.

CAPITALS KEEP PACE IN PLAYOFF HUNT
Rookie forward Chris Brown tied the game in the third period with his first career NHL goal and Nicklas Backstrom won it in the shootout as the Capitals were victorious in San Jose for the first time in more than 20 years (Oct. 30, 1993). Washington had failed to win in its past 12 visits to San Jose, going 0-11 with a tie, and had lost six in a row to San Jose overall.

STARS EDGE CLOSER TO WILD CARD BERTH
Dallas snapped a four-game winless streak and tightened the Western Conference playoff race with a 3-1 win over Ottawa. The win moved Dallas within two points of Phoenix for the final Wild Card spot.

* Stars forward Jamie Benn tallied his 30th goal of the season, one back of Tyler Seguin (31) for the team lead. The last time two Dallas players reached the 30-goal mark in a season was 2005-06, when Jere Lehtinen led the team with 33 goals and Jason Arnott netted 32.

* Seguin assisted on Benn’s goal, extending his point streak eight games (6-9—15).

* Dallas improved to 5-0-1 in their last six games versus Ottawa, including five-straight wins. They have not lost in regulation to the Senators since Dec. 7, 2007.

CANADIENS LEAVE TORONTO WITH TWO VALUABLE POINTS
The Canadiens finished their five-game season series against the Maple Leafs with a crucial road victory, moving five points ahead of their Atlantic Division rivals in the Eastern Conference playoff race. Tomas Plekanec scored his fifth game-winning goal of the season to extend his point streak to four games (1-3—4), while Carey Price made 33 saves to improve to 6-1-0 in his last seven games.

FLYERS WIN FIFTH STRAIGHT
The Flyers scored four unanswered goals and Steve Mason made 32 saves as Philadelphia won its fifth consecutive game with a 4-1 decision over St. Louis, improving to 8-1-1 in March.

* The Flyers are 12-2-1 since Feb. 1, with Mason posting a 10-2-1 record with a 2.39 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage in that span. He has a 27-9-5 record in 43 appearances since Nov. 9.

* Flyers captain Claude Giroux tallied two assists to extend his point streak to six games (1-9—10).

* Philadelphia boosted its all-time home record versus St. Louis to 48-13-10 in the clubs’ first meeting since Oct. 22, 2011.

FLAMES FILL THE NET
Curtis Glencross notched his third career hat trick as Calgary scored eight goals at Edmonton, the team’s highest single-game total since a 9-1 win over Colorado on Feb. 14, 2011. The seven-goal margin of victory was the largest ever by the Flames against the Oilers in Edmonton.

* Mike Cammalleri (1-2—3) recorded his second consecutive three-point performance, extending his point streak to seven games (8-5—13).

* Matt Stajan (1-3—4) posted his first four-point game since Oct. 11, 2007, when he tallied 1-3—4 for Toronto in an 8-1 win over the New York Islanders.

With Boston’s victory at Phoenix, the Blues clinched their 38th Stanley Cup Playoff berth in franchise history… Despite losing at Pittsburgh, the Lightning earned at least a point for the eighth consecutive game (5-0-3), matching the third-longest point streak in franchise history (Elias)… Tampa Bay forward Valtteri Filppula established a career high with his 24th goal of the season, extending his point streak to eight games (4-8—12)…The Rangers swept back-to-back contests at Columbus and New Jersey, improving their road record to 23-13-0. They lead the League in road wins and are one shy of tying the franchise record… Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson scored his 19th goal of the season, extending his point streak six games (2-6--8)… Phoenix defenseman Derek Morris skated in his 1,100th career NHL game…Keith Yandle hit the 50-point plateau (8-42—50) for the second time in his career…Shane Doan scored his 20th goal of the season for the 12th time in his career… San Jose forward Patrick Marleau reached the 30-goal mark for the seventh time in his career.
