ELLIS SPARKS ANOTHER RALLY AS PREDATORS EARN EIGHTH STRAIGHT WIN

Ryan Ellis (1-2—3) tied the game with 1:06 remaining in regulation and assisted on the overtime winner to help the Predatorsmatch a franchise record with their eighth consecutive victory.

* At 42-14-9 (93 points), Nashville maintained its four-point lead atop the Western Conference and moved within one point of Tampa Bay for first place in the entire NHL. The Predators have surged up the standings with help from a 12-game road point streak (9-0-3), the second-longest in club history (13 GP in 2015-16: 10-0-3).

* Sunday marked the fourth consecutive outing in which Nashville overcame a deficit to win, including Friday in Vancouver when Ellis also aided a comeback with a tying goal at 17:45 of the third period.

* Ellis became the second defenseman in NHL history to score a tying goal in the final three minutes of regulation in consecutive team games, joining Andy Sutton who did so with the Atlanta Thrashers in 2003-04.

* Nashville became the 12th team in NHL history to score a tying goal in the final three minutes of regulation and win in consecutive games (last: PHI from Nov. 2-3, 2016).

PANTHERS EXTEND WIN STREAK IN PURSUIT OF PLAYOFF POSITION

Aleksander Barkov (1-1—2) extended his point streak to six contests (5-5—10) to propel the Panthers (32-25-6, 70 points) to their sixth consecutive victory – all at home – to move within one point of a playoff spot. This marks the fifth win streak of at least six games in franchise history.

* The Panthers, who have sat in a playoff position for only one day in 2017-18 (following their second win on Oct. 12), improved to 13-3-0 in their last 16 games dating to Jan. 16. Only Boston has as many games remaining this season.

* Forwards Evgenii Dadonov (2-0—2) and Jonathan Huberdeau (1-0—1) both reached the 20-goal mark. The trio of Barkov (5-5—10), Dadonov (5-5—10) and Huberdeau (2-3—5) have combined for 12 of the Panthers’ 23 goals on their six-game win streak (52.2%).

Florida swept a homestand of at least six games for the second time in franchise history (also 6-0-0 from Dec. 20, 2015 – Jan. 3, 2016). Only four other teams in NHL history have won every contest during a six-game homestand: Philadelphia in 1984-85, Edmonton in 1986-87, Detroit in 2011-12 and Los Angeles in 2014-15. No team in NHL history has ever swept a homestand of more than six games.

GOLDEN KNIGHTS, JETS KEEP PACE WITH PREDATORS

The Golden Knights (42-18-5, 89 points) and Jets (39-17-9, 87 points) earned wins to keep pace with the Predators (42-14-9, 93 points) in the Western Conference standings, where seeds 1-3 are separated by just six points:

* Tomas Tatar (GWG) scored his first goal since being acquired by Vegas on Feb. 26 (3 GP) to help the Golden Knights reclaim a 10-point lead atop the Pacific Division. The Golden Knights improved to 18-11-3 as visitors to move within one road win of matching the NHL record for most by a team in its inaugural season.

* Patrik Laine (2-1—3) factored on all three Jets goals to help Winnipeg extend its road point streak to six games (5-0-1). Connor Hellebuyck (33 saves) improved to 34-10-8 in 2017-18 (2.40 GAA, .922 SV%, 6 SO) to match the Jets/Thrashers franchise record for most wins in a season by a goaltender, a mark set by Kari Lehtonen in 2006-07 (w/ ATL).

LAINE EXTENDS STREAK WITH ANOTHER MULTI-POINT GAME

Patrik Laine extended his point streak to eight contests (10-6—16), a run that includes seven multi-point efforts (including four straight). Laine (35-23—58), who scored 36 goals as a rookie in 2016-17, has 71 career goals and will celebrate his 20th birthday on April 19; only five players in NHL history have scored more goals as a teenager.

* Laine became just the third player in the last 24 years (since 1993-94) to record multiple points at least seven times in a span of eight team games. He joined Jaromir Jagr, who collected multiple points in 10 consecutive contests in 1995-96 (w/ PIT), and Vincent Lecavalier, who posted eight consecutive multi-point games in 2007-08 (w/ TBL).

HALL EXTENDS STREAK, REACHES 30-GOAL MARK FOR FIRST TIME

Devils forward Taylor Hall collected 1-1—2 to hit the 30-goal mark for the first time and extend his franchise-record point streak to 18 games (13-11—24), marking his 25th consecutive appearance with a point dating to Jan. 2 (18-18—36).

* The Devils forward became just the eighth different player in the last 30 years (since 1987-88) to record at least one point in 25 or more consecutive appearances. Hall (30-42—72) has moved from a share of 22nd in League scoring into a tie for 10th during his 25-game run.

WESTERN CONFERENCE CLUBS CLIMB RESPECTIVE DIVISIONS

The Wild (37-22-7, 81 points) and Ducks (33-21-12, 78 points) each secured key wins to climb their respective divisions:

* Down 1-0, the Wild scored four unanswered goals to defeat the Red Wings and improve to 23-5-6 (52 points) at Xcel Energy Center this season. Minnesota moved past Dallas (37-23-5, 79 points) for third place in the Central Division standings.

* Jakob Silfverberg and Corey Perry each score twice to help the Ducks extend their home point streak to eight games (6-0-2). Anaheim moved past Los Angeles (36-25-5, 77 points) for third place in the Pacific Division standings.

GOSTISBEHERE HOSTS MARJORY STONEMAN DOUGLAS BOYS HOCKEY TEAM

Flyers defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere, a native of Pembroke Pines, Fla., hosted members of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School boys hockey team, who won the Statewide Amateur Hockey of Florida High School State Championship less than two weeks after a mass shooting at their school. Gostisbehere, who attended Stoneman Douglas for two years, signed autographs and spent time with the players following Sunday’s game.
