MALKIN SCORES HAT TRICK IN MURRAY’S EMOTIONAL RETURN TO CREASE
Evgeni Malkin (3-0—3) scored his first hat trick of the season and Matt Murray made 40 saves in his first appearance since his father passed away earlier this month to guide the Penguins to their sixth straight win at PPG Paints Arena.
"For sure this one meant a little more to me personally, but still, that's all you can really do is just take things one shot at a time and just play your heart out on every single shot. That's what I tried to do." – Matt Murray
* Malkin netted his 12th career regular-season hat trick and boosted his 2017-18 totals to 26-29—55 (48 GP), tied for the fifth-most goals in the NHL this season. Only Alex Ovechkin has scored more hat tricks since Malkin made his NHL debut in 2006-07.
* Sidney Crosby collected one helper to extend his assist/point streak to 10 games (3-17—20), the longest active runs in the NHL.
GOLDEN KNIGHTS RALLY TO MATCH ANOTHER NHL RECORD

* The Golden Knights own the best record in the Western Conference standings and moved within one point of the League-leading Lightning (34-13-3, 71 points), who suffered a 3-1 loss on Tuesday. Vegas also improved to 14-9-2 (30 points) as visitors, five road wins shy of the NHL record for most by a team in its inaugural season.
DUCKS SNAP BRUINS’ POINT STREAK
Adam Henrique scored twice to extend his point streak to six games (6-2—8) and help the Ducks snap the Bruins’ point streak at 18 contests (14-0-4). Anaheim improved to 9-0-1 in its last 10 games against Boston dating to Oct. 31, 2013 (BOS: 1-8-1), including nine consecutive wins.
* The Bruins were the sixth team in the past 20 seasons to register a point streak of at least 18 games, joining the Lightning (14-0-4 in 2003-04; 18 GP), Red Wings (17-0-3 in 2005-06; 20 GP), Sharks (18-0-2 in 2007-08; 20 GP), Blackhawks (21-0-3 in 2012-13; 24 GP) and Blue Jackets (17-0-1 in 2016-17; 18 GP).
