New Jersey Devils Planning Ticket Increase

Devils fans could see this day coming as clearly as Scott Stevens lowering his shoulder to nail some hopeless left wing. But that didn’t make the 114 percent increase in the price of the best season tickets feel any better.
It’s a basic fact of life in the modern sports industry: A new arena means higher ticket prices. This week Devils fans are learning just how much more they will pay to maintain their seats when the team moves to Newark’s Prudential Center this fall.
We knew it was going to go up,” said Gary Mouridy of Readington, who has been a season-ticket holder since 2001. “We didn’t expect it to double.”
