from the AP via Fox Sports,
Petr Nedved joined Czech champion HC Sparta Prague on a one-year contract Thursday.
“Petr will be a huge draw for our fans, and due to many years of experience in the NHL we also expect him to take a large share of responsibility (for the team),” Sparta manager Petr Briza said in a statement.
added 9:28am, Skyping with Roman of eNHL.cz this morning, he told me Nedved had set a deadline of last week for any offers from NHL teams. Nothing to his liking, so he signed with Sparta.
