The game is literally turning into basketball before our very eyes. And what's really pathetic is what these changes are doing in minor hockey. In the hands of the anti-violence zealots who flourish throughout minor hockey in various pockets, it's quickly becoming a penalty to lift somebody's stick to get the puck. The trickle-down effect is nothing short of frightening. At the risk of sounding alarmist, the entire game itself as previously known is being threatened. At this point somebody will scream, "What was so great about the hockey back in '04?" -- when the owners allowed the NHL game to reach football proportions, perhaps on purpose.read on
