Nashville Needs To Explain

from the Tennessean,
But when the Predators reassigned Scottie Upshall and Shea Weber to Milwaukee for the Olympic break, and then had defenseman Jamie Allison claimed off waivers by Florida, it left Nashville with just 19 players on its NHL roster — one short of the league minimum. As a result, the Predators had to recall one player from Milwaukee. The team chose Stevenson, who once again had to clear waivers on the way back to the NHL level. Dallas interrupted those plans by claiming the 6-foot-1, 215-pound forward, who'd posted seven points and 74 penalty minutes in 35 games with the Predators this season. Because Stevenson was claimed off waivers on his way back up to the NHL level, the Predators will have to pay half of what remained of Stevenson's $450,000 salary this season.
