Bob Mac says Anisimov is the 4th piece.

*facepalm*  I… really have no words here.

Aaron Portzline ‏@Aportzline
#CBJ also sending 3rd pick and minor-league defenseman to #NYR in Nash trade. Told defenseman is not David Savard.

Wow.  It wasn’t a great deal before that info even…

Howson, you big idiot. Hold out for so long to get this?

I’m just boggled it wasn’t the Pens that got him.  How was it not the Pens?  Or are the Pens also considered a mythical “rival” like DET?

Are there Jackets fans here on KK?  I’m actually being serious because I want to know what you guys think and if you can stomach this anymore.

So Howson waited 5 months for this?  The very next thing he signs should be his resignation.

Forget rivalries, I’m pretty sure Holland’s offer was ten times better than this.

So for you BJ fans out there, would you rather have Nash out of the Division and Conference and get this pretty brutal package, or get Franzen AND Filppula and have him as a Wing? It was pretty mind-boggling how Howson still kept his job before, now its just ridiculous.

Howson should have been fired years ago.  However, this is one of those wonderful things were both teams lose.

The Rangers had holes to fill before and they now are without two very fine forwards and, what for them, was a decent defenseman.

None of these players will help the Bluejackets much, but then, nobody can help a team that is so poorly run.

Nash has proven that he cannot carry a team.  He also has proven that he only can play for a coach that let him do his own thing.  He was in constant conflict with Ken Hitchcock.  He will see what a really confrontational coach is like now.  Tortorella will have him eating his shorts for breakfast.

Oh well.

Howson could have asked for Mark Staal, too.  Then it might have been closer to worth it.

Howson setting himself up for a job with the Rangers after he’s canned from Columbus?

There has to be more we don’t know yet…

You have got to be jokin me. This has all got to be from fake accounts. All of it. Guy passes up a trade from the rangers at the deadline, goes through multiple teams that have have included Clowe and/or Pavelski, Vorachek, Read and someone else, and this is all he gets. OMFG. When will the owners care about the team or the NHL care about how abysmal this team is, or is becoming. Clown.

These guys are going to get on the first thing smoking to leave Columbus. Wow.

People mentioned the Flyers trading aways pieces to the Kings for them to win a cup.. He’ll Howson just GAVE the Rangers a cup. Not even Hagelin in the deal. F$cking wow.

He went from asking for players like Couture and Skinner, to Dub, Anisimov, Erixon?? I can’t believe he doesn’t get at least 1 of these guys Stephan, Zotto, McDonagh or Staal, terrible.

Suprised other teams couldn’t beat this offer or weren’t given the chance.

Howson probably asked for Malkin.

Howson’s method of negotiation is simply crazy to me.

*Rangers lowball him
*asks for more
*Rangers stick with original offer
*other team calls
*instead of asking for slightly more than the Rangers are offering and trying to spark a bidding war, Howson demands a better, younger, more economical player than Nash (Skinner, Couture, Couturier) plus picks and prospects
*other team laughs, hangs up, call’s Doan’s agent then goes golfing
*all that’s left with offers on the table are the Rangers

Dude rejects the “all give you all of my picks, including #4 overall, for your #2 overall”, then takes this.

It’s like when you can’t win on videogames and takes control of another team to make a laughable trade.

Primis…I am admittedly a hodge-podge of NHL fandom.  Based on when I supported my teams, I can’t be called a bandwagoner.  I have rooting histories with the Bruins, Canucks, Predators, and Jackets (mainly based on being a young, impressionable kid that moved around a lot on the first three…and just supporting the local team with the 4th).

As a current CBJ fan, this deal is disgusting.  Nothing more.

I think all of us Wings fans on here should be pretty happy that even though they didn’t end up with us, the Central has now lost Weber (probably), Suter and Nash this off season (and Lidstrom, who was easily the best of that bunch, but I digress).  Just think about how easy some of these CBJ/Preds games are going to be next year compared to the past few years.  Rinne is now literally the only player of consequence playing for either team.

@Primis BJ’s wanted 2 C’s the Pens have none to trade The Have Sid, Geno & Sutter now & spare parts after that, The have a billion Dmen prospects but if a team wants forwards they are helpless

Except of course the Wings always seem to lose to the horrible teams (like the Islanders) so we’re pretty much screwed.  And I’m only half kidding.

I love being right, fuchin’ love it.

And for all the hype of this Erixon guy.. this is the second time he’s been traded, as a prospect.  NYR’s first will probably mean as much as a Wings first.

LOVE it, hahahaha.

Pretty sure you’re overvaluing what a Wings first is going to be…

Very true….maybe having a bit of an underdog (read: Lidas-less team) mentality will help to get some of the play-down-to-crappy-teams’-levels out of their game…..without sacrificing the play-above-the-best-teams’-levels that they also bring.

haha you might be right, but I’m not calling it until it happens.  I actually think this team is going to surprise people,  I think they’ll stay about the same in the standings if they take this team in, everyone should be highly motivated without the perfectness of Lidas to hide behind.  I felt like last year there was a lot of “the next guy will get’er done” type mentality.  This year I t hink we’re going to have high motivated people on the roster and others who’re about to be pushed.
