Nabokov Says No To The Islanders

The New York Islanders claimed goaltender Evgeni Nabokov off waivers Saturday, a day after he signed a one-year deal with the Detroit Red Wings.
Nabokov, however, has decided not to report to the Islanders, source told ESPN.com Saturday afternoon.

I predict on day 1 of the free agent period this summer, Nabby signs with Detroit.
I absolutely agree. I don’t know that it’s 100% that he signs with Detroit, but if he does, I’d bet dollars to donuts that it will be for less than other teams offer him and that this…show of faith by Detroit will be at least part of the reason.
