Kukla's Korner Hockey

Must See TV

from the Globe and Mail,
It's a TV concept impossible to imagine happening anywhere but here: Hockey Day in Canada is CBC's annual celebration of homegrown hockey. It's the longest day of hockey of the year, and Canadian viewers wait for it. Once again, the Hockey Day in Canada telecast will include several insightful features focusing on the grand game. Among this year's lineup: Detroit Dads, in which reporter Elliotte Friedman tags along with the Detroit Red Wings on a road trip where the players brought along their fathers. And recent HNIC arrival Jim Hughson contributes The Drive Home, which explores the moments between a parent and child before or after a game. Another segment, titled Super Squirt, will profile an upcoming hockey prodigy in Roblin, Man., who is averaging 200 to 300 goals each season. The kid is nine years old.
more note: Hockey fans can watch HDIC on Center Ice beginning at noon today or on CBC if you are lucky enough to get it.
