Multi-Year Tavares Deal Close with NYI

... and Tyler Myers with the Buffalo Sabres, too.

From Bob McKenzie’s Twitter:

Nothing official just yet, but John Tavares and Tyler Myers on verge of big, multi-year contract extensions with NYI and BUF, respectively.

Both deals are expected to be in 6 year range, give or take a year, and worth an average of $5.5M, give or take a few hundred thousand.

As I said, not “done” yet but close to being put to bed. Both Tavares and Myers have one year left remaining on their entry-level deals.

Arthur Staples at Newsday also reported on the developing Tavares deal earlier in the evening.

None of this is credible, we all know that Tavares REALLY wants to play for Toronto and will not sign with the Islanders. wink
