from George Johnson of Flames Insider at the Calgary Herald,
The 35-year-old Morrison, a revelation here since signing a one-year deal mere days before the was injured last week in Chicago when hit by Blackhawks’ defenceman Niklas Hjalmarsson. He left the ice favoring his left knee.
If the discomfort in the knee wasn’t bad enough, he was forced to endure a chorus of taunting from the Blackhawk bench.
“It wasn’t easy getting off. I couldn’t put much weight on that leg. To be honest, what I’ve tried to do is not stay down every time I’ve gotten hurt. It’s not trying to be manly or prove that I’m tough. The play is going on and you’ve got to get off the ice. What was a little disappointing was coming off and guys from the Chicago bench being a little disrespectful. That was uncalled for. But you do what you do and try and get off the ice.
