If I’m a construction worker, I’m more likely to have health issues than if I’m an office worker.
If he’s talking about actual “health issues” as opposed to just physical hazards, the construction workers are probably in better general health than the office workers considering how active they are.

I agree with this line of thinking to an extent, there are risks with this job and these players are well compensated for these risks.
However, that doesn’t mean steps shouldn’t be taken to minimize these risks. Also, these players are essentially investments, wouldn’t these teams/owners want to maximize their return on investment not have them sidelined for months at a time collecting paychecks?
