Morning Line

“It was a rebound and the guy’s going to the net, so I lift his stick and he f—-ing falls down and (the referee) calls a f—-ing penalty,.  It was terrible, in my opinion.

“I don’t want to say any more because I don’t want to get fined, but it’s mind-boggling to me.”

-Jay Bouwmeester of the Calgary Flames commenting on a penalty he took last night agains the Wings.  More on the game from Randy Sportak of the Calgary Sun.

The Hagman slash was the weakest call of that game, but I’m glad to see that Hagman didn’t take the easy way out, saying he didn’t think he slashed Stuart hard, but that it’s not easy to be a ref.

Bouwmeester stepped into Abdelkader to initiate contact, slid his foot behind Abdelkader’s, and then followed up his stick-lift with a shoulder check away from the puck.  JayBo is making excuses for having a terrible game, including behind the guy most responsible for Pavel Datsyuk’s power play goal thanks to two extremely weak clearing attempts.

Jay Bouwmeester can talk????? And someone could understand him???
When did this happen?

The last time I heard this guy speak he sounded like the Swedish Chef with marbles in his mouth.

Regarding the non-penalty, Jay-Bo, why don’t you shut-up and continue working on that impressive NHL non-playoff game streak you got going.
8 seasons and counting!

for me that was a clear penalty. not only is he draped all over him but the goalie trips him with his stick as well…

both should have been called

Detroit wasn’t exactly cheated by the officials, but Calgary lost that game by their own doing.

What are you talking about? No one is complaining about bad calls, except JayBo. Bert’s hold was a weak call, but big deal. Those happen. Filppula getting his head just about unscrewed from behind was a 2 min minor instead of an intent to injure, but other than that I think it was an evenly called game.

JayBo, bitching ‘bout the penalty he knew he committed?

Flames totally served that one up on a platter int he 3rd. Can’t do that to a team as good as DET.

JayBo might be wrong about bitching, but it’s nice to see a bit of passion from him even if it is misdirected.
