"We felt we had a good thing going.  I think everybody thought we were going to go a long way, but it seemed like we didn't find that extra step for the playoffs. Detroit was just a little better than us. It's depressing. It makes you feel sad."

-Jonas Hiller, goaltender for the Anaheim Ducks after losing 3-2 to Detroit last night.  More on the game from the CP at TSN.

This year is payback for 2007.
Babcock coached Anaheim then, and he coaches Detroit now.

Ducks fans should be happy. They got to see the best player in the world - #13 - play 4 times.

So nice to see Perry go goalless.

On to Chicago!

w2j2, did you mean 2003? That’s when the Wings played the Babcock-coached Ducks.

Our kids are BUILT for the playoffs.  Holy shit, that extra gear Andersson and Gus seem to have.  They know what’s up.

Z with his Conn Smythe pants on, still fit.

Rock and fuchin’ Roll baby!  Skies the limit and anything from here on out is cake!  We’re not the favorite in any series to the Cup Final, so enjoy being the spoilers and take what you can get.  I’m happy with how we’ve progressed from Game 1, we’ve learned some valuable lessons and what it takes int he playoffs.  If we get swept, I could give a shit, but I think we got a 50/50 shot against Chicago.  There’s no shoot-out now and our “kids” have had a chance to get their footing and are humming.

Round 2 baby

Great series…... tough play from both teams.

Having said that, Hiller could have been a whole lot tougher in my opinion. I don’t recall that many “holy monkey nuts” saves on his part. Jimmy….... yeah, he was all monkey nuts.

It’s depressing. It makes you feel sad.

I see the makings of another masterpiece from the Master Chief right there. smile
