"A lot of times I talk with my coaching staff and also my boys around the cottage and I say, 'We should change the game (name) of hockey to goalie' because that makes the difference. And I think for our team, Craig Anderson was the MVP of this playoff series."

-Paul MacLean, head coach of the Ottawa Senators.  More on the Sens series win over Montreal by Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.

hard to argue both points:
- anderson was definitely their mvp
- goalies are as important as ever in these playoffs.  The wash/ny series is a great example of that.

Very true. Hockey is revered for being the ultimate team sport, but goalies seem to have a far greater impact in the outcome than any other player on the ice.
An allstar team together with an ECHL goalie can be beat by an ECHL squad with an all-world goalie.
