And when the local novelty of freezing for three hours wears off? The dirty little secret of the Winter Classic has always been that’s more fun to watch on TV anyway.

Football is better to watch on TV than freezing your ass of for 3 hours too & Heinz Field in Pgh. Is Packed & the waiting list for season tickets is ridiculously long

Maybe you guys are missing the point. Petchesky is pointing out these things that sure should be fairly obvious, because the majority of the pieces about the Winter Classic and the new outdoor games are going to be fluff pieces throwing around platitudes about “how it’s great for the game” and it really “grows the league” and “gives exciting events to all these fan bases.” Blah blah blah.
