Maybe Oilers’ GM Steve Tambellini isn’t getting any concrete offers for Whitney. Maybe that’s why this is dragging out and it’s getting messy. I know one thing: you can’t have a $3.8 million player sitting while a $750,000 player like Potter is playing, not if you’re the owner of the team. Can you?

You can if you want to send a message to your players that it’s not your salary that dictates playing time but on-ice results.
Kenny makes Babs play it the salary way and we’ve had 2 years of first round exits, one almost a sweep. Been 4 years since we really looked threatening in the playoffs. Why? Too many no-shows when the playoffs start. Too many people used to getting their spots without trying.
