From my seat, I think the cold water thrown on the fans this year will prevent many from getting all hot and bothered about watching playoff hockey next season. And watching the Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks and Los Angeles Kings in the playoffs won’t likely help much, either.

That said, when it comes to the big picture, the hope will return.
