The Buffalo Sabres are on pace to become the worst team, by at least one measure, in the N.H.L.’s 96-season history.
After Saturday’s overtime loss against Calgary, the Sabres had won 2 of 33 games in regulation, a rate of 6.1 percent. That percentage would be the lowest for a season, worse than the mark of the 1930-31 Philadelphia Quakers, who won 3 of 44 games in regulation (6.8 percent).
