Joe Hicketts deserves to be with the Wings.  He throws his (small) body around very efficiently.  Young players are taught it doesn’t matter how big you are, YOU have to know how to give and take body checks.

I even put my Goalie son in a few excellent Body Check clinics. He felt more confident going behind the net and surprised a few players

I listened to Leafs Lunch today and someone brought up the fact that 4 of the top 10 prospects according to Bob McKenzie are under 5’ 10”. 

Size once mattered in the NHL, but with the rules being tightened up again, the best player will play, size is out the window.

It’s almost as if the entire league is trolling Ken Holland.

He’s had years of players who were too small and now, mere months after he kind of went off the board in the first round and drafted someone seemingly based entirely on the player’s size, now the league is getting smaller.

Poor Kenny can never get a break.
